Google can't read
« on: October 30, 2010, 09:32:45 am »
After looking at the 1000th+posters thread, I noticed something weird about the Google search for "recursion"
Search it and you will see a Google spelling suggestion "Did you mean recursion?"
Apparently Google can't read.

EDIT: If you click on the suggestion, it links you back to the same spot. (Wait for it...)

Google did that on purpose; by offering a suggestion for recursion, it creates a recursive loop. If you click 'did you mean 'recursion," it'll take you back to the same spot.

Yeah, yunhua's wording was a little confusing to me.
Google's little joke.
I wonder if there are any other hidden secrets in Google.

There's plenty.
One that comes to mind is to search 'ASCII Art'. Then look at the logo on the results page.

Spoiler For Projects:

My projects haven't been worked on in a while, so they're all on hiatus for the time being. I do hope to eventually return to them in some form or another...

Spoiler For Pokemon TI:
Axe port of Pokemon Red/Blue to the 83+/84+ family. On hold.

Spoiler For Nostalgia:
My big personal project, an original RPG about dimensional travel and a few heroes tasked with saving the world.
Coding-wise, on hold, but I am re-working the story.

Spoiler For Finale's Super Insane Tunnel Pack of Doom:
I will be combining Blur and Collision Course into a single gamepack. On hold.

Spoiler For Nostalgia Origins: Sky's Story:
Prequel to Nostalgia. On hold, especially while the story is re-worked.

And search the answer to life, the universe, and everything, and you,ll see that google apparently has a faster version of Deep Thought. :P

Google calculator :)

On that little subtopic, try searching for 'once in a blue moon'
A Cherry-Flavored Iambian draws near... what do you do? ...

Awesome!
If you start typing "help me I'm trapped," Google suggestions would offer "help me I'm trapped in a Google suggest server room"
Make sure instant search is off.

I see no post by Deep Thought in this topic ???

That said, nice Google easter egg :P

That stuff reminds me some bad experience I had with computers. Blame Micro$oft. If you aren't aware of what I am refering to, I mean shit like:

*clicks*
"An error has occured, you must do <THING #1> to do that."
*does <THING #1>*
"Sorry, you already have done <THING #1>."

Or worse:

*clicks*
"An error has occured, you must do <THING #1> to do <THING #2>."
*does <THING #1>*
"Sorry, you must perform <THING #2> to do <THING #3>."

Another example of stuff I ran into is when you Google for GBA ROMs. You'll land on a site giving links to other ROM sites, then another, then another, only to fall back on the first site you found. X.x
