Lobster Origins

It recently came to my attention that no one knows where the "Netham is a lobster" meme started, so I decided to figure it out.  After prolonged searching through irc logs and forum topics, here are my findings:
On Thursday, Febuary 5th, 2009, at precisely 10:28:08 PM, Speler brought the meme into existance with the creation of this topic.  The meme apparently sperad pretty fast, as is evident from irc logs from that very day:

So there you have it.  Netham is a lobster, no questions asked. O0

But that doesn't tell me why the lobster is Blue.

Yeah, sometimes some stuff gains in popularity for absolute no reason O.o. I guess that's just the Internet. :P

The peanut thing has been running for over 6 years now. It even survived a 6 month shut down (and restart from scratch). XD
