Question about maths...
« on: September 17, 2010, 09:06:37 pm »
I keep hearing that we can do maths on the TI-83+/84+/Nspire. I even read somewhere that those calculators' main purpose were maths, so I've been wondering for a while: what is that "math" thing many people keep talking about? I always thought calculators were solely dedicated to gaming. ???

I'm just as confused as you are. My math teacher made me get one of those calculators and all I've so far been able to do is play Mario. Maybe she just though that the class would get boring...

From what I've heard, it's some sort of legal thing. Maths are add-ons that make some people happy, apparently.

Strange... I think I heard a story about it on NBC... I think they said it was "Crystal Math," or something like that. There was some guy talking about how he did it and he became addicted to it, and they had an intervention for him. Sad stuff, man.

Thats horrible. Why would TI want to do that?

Actually, wait. Only the TI-83 Plus Silver Edition and above have that Crystal Math feature. I think the normal TI-83 Plus doesn't have a crystal timer at all.
