When you buy a new computer or laptop or plan to upgrade your current one, here is what you need to be looking for and what you need to avoid paying too much attention to:
It doesn't matter if it's the most advanced processor possible, if you have the highest amount of RAM possible, a big hard drive (although make sure to have a decent amount of space) and an high end video card. In fact I even suggest you get a middle end video card, if possible.
All that matters when you choose a new computer is: It must run Starcraft Brood War. Nothing else. All that matters is Starcraft.
Just make sure to have a decently big enough hard drive, to save all your replays. But yeah, when you buy a new computer, what you are looking for in the specs is: running Starcraft.
Even if it can't run Starcraft II it's OK, because there's still Starcraft Brood War.
