Hello world
« on: May 12, 2010, 12:12:01 am »
Hello. I am midgetman66. I started programming the calculator 2 years ago when I saw that the school's calculator had a pretty "prgm" button on it. I pressed the button and opened up pandora's box of creativity. Math programs to crappy text rpgs... I have had my fun with ti-basic.

A couple of things that I really need to figure out:
How to have more than 10 maps, and be compatible with xlib
How to use greyscale, and be compatible with xlib

Not that I want to use you guys, but this website looks like the best of the best. Especially compared to youtube... where people just brag about their programs xD

Hiya and welcome here.

Nice to see you are interested in further calc games development.

And yeah I agree a bit about Youtube, altough you can get a few more downloads on your programs from there. In fact, several BASIC calc RPGs have videos of them (spoilers) there and we got a lot of members from YT back then. It's just not as good to showcase a project, since people there will criticise with gaming as a whole in mind, rather than just calc standards in mind. If your game lacks grayscale and 60 FPS framerate, or even 3D, they'll bash it, since they'll be too used to Modern Warfare 2 or Bioshock. I generally don't take Youtube comments very seriously.

As for calc sites, there are a few active ones, altough some of the others saw their activity drop in the past year or so.

(This post and the next two are referencing a spambot that posted just before this post.)

Are you a spam bot? O.o (?)

(I'm really sorry if I'm wrong.)
