Heya and welcome here I hope you enjoy your stay and I can't wait to see your BASIC RPG. We haven't got a lot of those in the past year and I love RPGs. :D

Also doN't mind the randomness that happens sometimes in the intro section ;D

EDIT: Also don't hesitate to ask questions if you need to do so, people will be happy to help :)

Hence the lack of post count increases :P

Welcome to Omnimaga! Your peanuts should be arriving shortly.

* calcdude lost The Game. However, he has not been rickrolled.

Nifty, I don't think we've had anyone from South Korea before. :D

What's your RPG about so far?

I got my storyline done with it and programmed a bit..
This RPG is basically about the guy name "YEONG" and 7 other "gifted" students saving a world...

Ah nice, one of our former Omnimaga member (jsj795) was born there. He moved to New York years ago, though. He knows both Korean and English languages well, from what I remember.
/me hopes this website doesn't load very slowly there X.x

Hello! Welcome to Omnimaga! You know, i'm surprised yunhua98 didn't give you peanuts yet.

I'm currently making a huge RPG(At least, trying to) using xLib.

Making an RPG is a huge undertaking, heres a link that should help you out

Former? Is he not a member anymore?

He went inactive about 6 months ago, iirc.

Keep in mind he said he has 2 years of TI-BASIC experience, though. By my 2nd year I was into the 20-30 hours type of RPGs in BASIC (Illusiat 12, The Reign Of Legends and The Reign Of Legends 2). It might still help a bit, though, if it's his first or second calc RPG.
Former? Is he not a member anymore?
He went inactive after this summer, although his calc projects died long before. He hardly frequents the board anymore. I still see him on Starcraft II sometimes (great game :D) but he seems to have lost interest in calc stuff.

Hey..I actually followed some of the rule! (i.e. Write storyline on paper first)
I actually made few short RPG before..(But all got erased because of EOC)
For me, balancing stat is so hard....
Title: Re: Hello, World...I mean people
Post by: DJ Omnimaga on October 14, 2010, 10:55:04 pm
Ah cool to hear :D

Also the writing story on paper rule is kinda good. In the early Illusiat games I didn't and the storylines are kinda weird at times ;D

Stats balancing is hard indeed X.x, especially if enemy stats are dynamic (to save space) x.x

.......
How do you post animated gif?
Title: Re: Hello, World...I mean people

You can use an emulator like WabbitEmu.

(By the way, you can edit your post, and avoid double posting)

I already did... I already have a animated gif
But..How do you post it in here?

.......
How do you post animated gif?
You must have 5 posts (spambot protection) that are outside of the Intro Section/Randomness.  Then a box appears under the spot where you type your post where you can add files. :)
You can post a topic about it if you like. ;D

Ah, sorry, misread your question.  You can attach it to the post, or use an image hosting site, like {AP}'s RFG Image Uploader and use BBC code to place it in your post.

EDIT: Ah, well Z answered that question.   ninja'd

Oh!  I just remembered that you can upload it here: http://img.removedfromgame.com/ and then use img tags to put it in your post. :)

Edit: Lobstered ninja'd, but I have link. :P

I don't think you  can embed images/links with less than 5 non intro/random posts, but I'm not sure.

Oh right I forgot about the 5 post limit. It's to prevent spambots from uploading adult content (which happened before x.x) or even images that contains viruses. Post count doesn't increase in the intro section because people use it to spam sometimes and bots seems programmed to post there first nowadays. As alternative to the forums upload section, you can use img.removedfromgame.com. It's an image hosting service by a forum member.

you can level up by posting outside of Intro/Randomness

that looks really good btw

Yea. I'd start a thread for your RPG in the calc discussion section, that'll count for posts.

lol, I think DJ got mega ninja'd. :P  * ZTrumpet eats DJ Omni

Looks nice!  I really like the title screen and the look of the main walking engine, though the character seems to disappear for a while. :)  Great job on it. ;D

I think he meant the screenshot was slow, I don't think he meant anything rude from that.
which also explains ztrumpet's question.  ;)

Oh maybe. Idk. It seemed directed at me x.x

That said if he meant the screenshot he may need to use Opera or Firefox to view it. In Chrome and IE screenshots are capped at 10 fps.

Seeing your enjoyment of RTSs, here's a complimentary bag of limited-edition S.A.D. peanuts.  They've been tested for security by the Xel'naga themselves, so there's no way anyone can steal them from you.  Don't believe anyone on this forum who says they've taken them.

That reminds me... if you enjoy Starcraft there are some of us who play here. Unfortunately SC2 is region-locked, so I can only play vs americans, but I still play the first Starcraft a lot. :D

Nor your post...
Sorry if you misunderstood  :)

BTW, I play starcraft2 in American server.

Ah ok, and nice to hear you play on US server, I didn't know in Korea they sold the american version of the game or used the US server.

Oh ok lol I thought you lived in Korea, still. I guess that makes it even better then, as there won't be as much lag if you got slow internet or if there are snowstorms nearby :P (I live in Canada, but to the East, so...)
