this would be my 7th post, I think. I am somewhat proficient in ti basic and have the nspire cx cas running os 3.6

Welcome aboard! By TI-BASIC do you mean on the nspire? Usually, BASIC on the z80 calcs.(TI 73,82,83/+/SE,84+/+SE/CSE,85,86) is referred to as TI-BASIC,  BASIC on the 68k calcs.(TI 92/+,89,Voyage 200) is referred to as 68k BASIC and BASIC on the nspire (all models) is referred to as nspire BASIC.

On a side note, do you know some Lua for the Nspire? It isn't that much like Basic but it has more features if you want to create complex programs (getkey, for example, although I heard it's possible to mimic getkey by creating a virtual d-pad on the screen). Of course it's fine if you want to use TI-BASIC, but I wanted to point that out in case. I personally don't know any of the Nspire languages, though.

Ah yeah, you should definitely try Lua out. Although I don't have a Nspire, so I don't really know BASIC, I heard it's much, much better than BASIC. I know Lua though, and it's pretty powerful.
