Ok first off: whats with all the viaolent smileys?
secondly: HI!!! I'm MechaTech84 (Mecha for short) I have always loved rpg's and I taught myself how to program in TI-basic. (well, I taught my self the basics, school gets kinda boring sometimes...) I can do the rubik's cube, if you have any questions about that, see my siggy.
Just thought I'd introduce myself --Mecha

Hello, welcome to Omnimaga!
-
Hi, welcome to omnimaga. If you want to learn more basic I recomend http://tibasicdev.wikidot.com/
-
Thanks, I am a member on calcgames, but I wanted to join this site, because its got some great games out, and I wanted to help someday.... so I figured I'd start now!
Edit: I didn't want to double post: I have already learned a lot more basic from some tutorial somewhere else, I just wanted to say I taught some of it to myself.... I should show my work.... I'll post an attachment later....
-
the attached files are video versions of my Bob video series for a TI-83 or compatible. For best results, after you unzip them, open them in a internet browser. Bob8 has more at the begining, but idk what happened to it, so just wait, it will load eventually....
-
Welcome to Omnimaga! We hope you have a great time!
PS. Please use the "Edit" button instead of double posting next time. ;)
Oh yes, and if Spelli doesn't come, peanuts are my responsibility.
-
Oh yeah, here have some walnuts until SpellShaper comes.
-
peanuts? ok you lost me there.... And Sorry about double posting, I just really didn't feel like editing that again.... whatever
-
Props with that rubik's cube thing ant there is a reason for this smiley :gotosucks:
cuz you should try no to use said token.
-
Welcome to Omnimaga.

Welcome to Omnimaga!

Welcome here to Omnimaga! And because the smileys are funny aren't they??
-
Oh yeah! smileys are awesome! I especially like the Chaingun and the Rocket Launcher... you guys have to make a surface to air missile and a Ground to Ground missile and other such weapons of insane proportions. and this one: :samurai:
should loop.... just a suggestion but it would look a lot cooler.
So, how did you guys like the vids? It took a while, and it was about a year and a half ago that I finished Bob8.... so there are a few GOTO's unfortunantly... but whatever, there is only like 1 or two.... That's because I didn't know how else to do the scene selection back then...
By the way, just to clear up any issues later on, I am a boy, just cause it's hard to tell over the web...
@TheStorm: Thanks! I am currently trying to find people to help me on a project: a program that can teach someone how to solve the rubik's cube (If you look on calcgames you'll see a different project, but I decided to change it.... This seems more useful. As the saying goes "Catch a fish for a man, you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime." Same basic idea. Plus at my school, I started a fad.... At one time, if you walked down the hall, you would pass about 7 rubik's cubes on the way.... and that was just one hall! It was pretty sweet. It also kept me on top of my game: I wanted to be number one. I would challenge people to see if they could do it with two hands faster than I could do it with 1 hand... The sad part is, most of the time I won....
This link is a program I am working on that will help me learn the last layer orientation method of the Fridrich method (just google "Fridrich method OLL") It's not done yet, but I posted it anyway. BTW this is not the method that will be taught in the upcoming program.

I saw your animations and I was all like...

...those are pretty good.
-
Thanks! I started the first one in 6th Grade, finished Bob8 in fall of my 8th grade year, and Now I just finished my freshman year of highschool! Whew!!!!! I took a break, mostly because it took a while to make Bob8 (about 6 months)

Haha rubiks cubes took over my school this year. Weird.
Welcome to Omnimaga!
Don't worry too much about the peanuts, it's an Omnimaga tradition (well actually mostly a Spelli tradition)
-
PEANUT TIME!!! WOOHOO!!! *Delnar_Ersike
-
Mecha, now talking in third person to emphasize his awesomeness, catches some peanuts and starts roasting them over a lighted campfire Mecha then continues to eat his roasted peanuts and begins hoping someone will start a marshmallow tradition....
I then stop talking in third person and state that I have no idea who spelli is.
-
He's the peanut God.
-
Hiya and welcome here! I'll check your animations as soon as I get some time.
Oh and spelli is spellshaper (he uses the spelli screenname on IRC), he post quite often on the forums. :)
-
NO!, dont eat those. those aren't peanuts, those are fingers! jk
anyway, what method do you use to solve the cube? i do only the petrus, but my friends know friedrich and Rue (however that's spelt).
-
Wow, someone on a calculator website other than me cubes!
*Ahem* I use a very simple method, I'll look it up and post a website. (if I can find it, I haven't been able to find my exact method most of the times I have looked) I am interested in learning complete Fridrich method, but I'm kinda not that dedicated.... whatever... learning Petrus method would also be good, but when I go to the website, I can't see the pictures, and my parents won't let me download most stuff, so I haven't asked yet...
I also know enough random moves to be able to solve it a different way, It isn't effecient for me, but It is different. I know a 3-corner cycle, and a 3 edge cycle. I can orient 2 or 3 edges without messing anything else up, the same with 2 or 4 edges. Using those moves, I can solve the cube all edges first or all corners first. It is solely used for showing off to my friends at school :P
I have to go now, I'll post the website later...
