Just my introduction, new member here.  I've only programmed calculators in basic before, but I am an EE with 20+ years experience programming microcontrollers in assembly. I feel sorry I never learned C or any of its derivatives, as it seems to be prevalent everywhere, but can't stomach the syntax  ;D I need to get over that. I've used TI-83+, 84+, 89 and many Casios, including cg10.

Thanks to the dedicated members that keep giving great utilities to use for the calculators  8)

Welcome! What brings you to Omnimaga? It seems like you have quite a bit of experience in assembly already. There's also a language called Axe that's pretty popular around here. Do you have any projects in mind?

Also, here's some more peanuts ;):

Hey there!
TI-89 I hear? Do you also own one? I'm always interested when someone does, because sadly enough nobody works on those kind of calcs anymore.

Projects in mind? Not many at the moment that involve calculators, but who knows, something may come to mind :D

To 3rik: I'll check that link, thanks!

Sadly no.  I leased it for a semester back when in college.

Heya and welcome here. :) I own a lot of calculators but I only really programmed on the TI-83 Plus. Omnimaga is mainly oriented towards TI and Casio game development, but there are also programming help sections, and I think C is quite popular since it can be used on TI-Nspires, Casio FX-9860G and PRIZM calculators. Also there's a computer programming (handheld/mobile can do as well) section on the forums too if you do any non-calculator programming. :)

Hello Thanos, welcome to Omnimaga! What brings you here? We are a community of hobbyist with varying intrests and skill levels. There are quite a large variety of project going on here ranging from emulators on limited hardware (a gameboy emulator on the 83+/84+ platform) to Axe parser (a brand new compiled language that can be programmed on calculator in the BASIC program editor), a 4 color video player (on b&w hardware), and hardware projects like a game controller that connects to the calculator! Therde are many games such as a minecraft 2d, clone , doom ports, and many others. I hope you find many things to perk your interest. Cemetech.net is another similar site that I'd recommend checking out. The owner, Kerm Martin is an EE as well as a programmer and has done some cool stuff ther as well.  Sorry for this post looking a bit jumbled, but i'm posting from my phone. ;)

Hello Art, just checking on ideas and applications for calculators.  I got my hands on a casio fx-cg10 (color screen) and wanted to see what can be done before I open it and start thinkering with the hardware. The nice display gives me ideas (the native software is slow), so I want to see if the unit is viable for other applications. I'll check what KM has done.  I'm sure as a EE/programmer he's already gone through some of the stuff I want to check (why reinvent the wheel?) ;)

It's great that you've worked with the TI-89. I've programmed on it too.
Due to dissatisfaction, I will be inactive on Omnimaga until further notice. (?? THP hasn't been much success and there's also the CE. I might possibly be here for a while.)
If you want to implore me to come back, or otherwise contact me, I can be found on GitHub (bluebear94), Twitter (@melranosF_), Reddit (/u/Fluffy8x), or e-mail (if you know my address). As a last resort, send me a PM on Cemetech (bluebear94) or join Touhou Prono (don't be fooled by the name). I've also enabled notifications for PMs on Omnimaga, but I don't advise using that since I might be banned.
