DJ, the Casio Prizm is just as locked down as the nspire. The devs just found their exploit (read: ndless for prizm), now, and CASIO either hasn't noticed, or just doesn't care.

Also, keep in mind that the amount of stuff that doesn't work on the emu comprises, I'd say, 1-3% of what is available, since it's all about the undocumented functions not being supported.

When you ever consider buying another calc, it could be a ti 89 perhaps. It is of the same family like the ti 92, but there are more programs for the ti 89. I think it is good to start with the nspire. Be sure to buy/get a keypad too ;P
The 68k community is a bit dead, but I actually think that the 68k calcs are the most advanced programming calc of ti. And I am trying to make it undead :P

Now I really want the prizm, 84+, and the Nspire!!!!!!!!!
I think I'll look into a prizm, but I really want the Nspire.

I've made my decision: Casio fx-9860G Slim.

hmm, that's a good calculator, but it doesn't have much support from this community at least :( not many people here have that type of casio calc, so there's not nearly as much community support for the platform.

There isn't an exploit for the Prizm, and an exploit isn't needed. What we did was just to document the g3a format. It's similar to the apps on 83+/84+, except there is less signing involved. The user doesn't need to install an exploit, unlike Ndless - they just have to transfer the g3a file to their calc. (Do the new Lua programs for Nspire 3.0 work in this way too?) And if we think about things other than asm/C, the Prizm has better BASIC functions for graphics, and GetKey and such.

Yeah, but the difference with Casio is that they aren't trying hard at eradicating game development on their calcs, like TI is doing.

Casio discussion, but I see someone set one up already.

This is TI:

"Shitz man!  Teh programmers just broke into our new Lua thing, our TNS thang, and our OS thong!"
"Craptz man!  Let's get back at tehm by blocking non-encryted TNS files and adding a 1024 RSA key!
"Frackz, man!  now we're locked out of our own goddamned piece of Shitz too :("

* TI feels unhappy.

Casio:

"Shitz, man!  Teh calc community already cracked teh add-in format and they codin' in C to make gamez!!!"
"... cool :3 *opens another beer* shall we help them?"
   ":3 why not?"

* Casio goes back to being totally drunk and chill

Ashbad, they're at 2048 bits, now. (On the CX, at least)

As for Casio, maybe they're like "Oh crap! They hacked the Prizm! What do we do? We don't know how to fix this!". When someone asked them about a SDK and said they managed to run assembly code or something, Casio asked them for info on how they did that. :P

They said they would fix it in the next release, but it has been over a month, now.

They probably wanted to know how to fix the security hole. :P
