We should probably go back on topic, though, so I don't need to lock this thread
. (post counts doesn't increase in Intro but it's not the Randomness forum after all

Cool, I hope you remain active for a while when you are not too busy.
Also there is a new programming language besides TI-BASIC and ASM that you may like. It's called Axe Parser. It's easier than ASM but much faster than BASIC and it's the only third-party language of the sort that ever got as popular as BASIC and ASM in the TI community. It depends of people, though. Some people prefer TI-BASIC syntax or find it harder, while some will prefer it to the others.

yes, I've heard amazing things about Axe, albert introduced it to me last year, and it seems like a pretty noteworthy language to learn.

Sorry in advance if my stuff that I've worked on is too noob for you
I'll make a new website soon and upload my newer and more advanced stuff...the stuff on my old website was made like a long time ago when I thought the "Hello World" program was the coolest thing.

Ok, I have checked the programs on your

site and I was really impressed at the work put into some of them. However, it would have been greater if the original author of the respective programs was left intact in the readmes. After checking Graph 3D, I noticed it was very familiar with our dear KermMartian's version, located at both

&
http://cemetech.net/programs/index.php?mode=file&path=/83plus/basic/math/graph83p.zip
. I tried it, and it turned out to be the exact same program. So then I tried a few others and they sounded familiar too. In some cases, even the readme was identical, with the exception of the original author.

Taking an already existing program source code, replacing the author name with yours then releasing it as your own creation is stealing. Not only stealing by itself is very bad, but code theft goes against the TI community (and game making community in general). I have been in the TI community for 9 years and I remember when those programs were originally released. Some of their authors were or are well known programmers in the community and those authors spend hours of work on those programs. You can be sure that when Kerm discovered this copy of Graph 3D, he must not have been happy at all. I myself was not happy and I can assure you that if someone used one of my program source code without giving me credits, I would not be happy either. I was personally victim of music theft on Newgrounds and I know how it is when you spend a long time working on something only to discover later that someone else who hardly touched the source code claims the entire work as his own (+friends)?
Sorry but it is not acceptable. Please, be proud of yourself. If you do not know programming, try to learn it, we will be very happy to help. We have plenty of BASIC and Axe programmers and a lot of us are also experienced with z80 assembly too. But don't take someone else's program to claim it as your own, boasting about your programming skills. If you modify someone's program, at least write "Written by <Original Author's Name>. Modified by Hyped" in the credit names".
Now I think you should take those files down or put back the original author names in place. Have respect for people hard work in the programming community. I am pretty sure people will eventually earn respect from you if you do and more if you try to learn to do your programs yourself, even if they are not as high quality when you start up (everyone gotta start somewhere, after all).
But yeah, stealing == bad. Sure, some ppl download games illegally, but I think this is not as bad as claiming them as your own creation.

Partially correct.
Indeed some of the original names were removed, so I will take blame for that. And I give my apologies to the original coders of the original unmodified versions. However, most of the stuff I posted was modified from the original in some way or another. For example, Guitar Hero was modded to run a bit slower than the original since it was way to speedy and almost unplayable. Other programs were modified as well to run better, fix bugs, and so on, but I still should have put the original author names into it as well.
Check Cemtech for more details..

I have read your post on Cemetech now.
I am glad that you admitted your mistake now, although we all wish it would have been done sooner (such as not saying you made those programs in your first post). Of course everyone does mistakes, but they need to be pointed out in the good direction. My hope is that in the future, you will credit the right people for your future releases if they include code or images from other people. Also if you acknowledge your mistake and do not do it again in the future, then become a good contributor to the community, you eventually repair your reputation for the most part. Although you mentionned you are busy in another post, we hope that you'll stick around and I hope to see some nice programs from yourself, and as I said in another post, feel free to ask for help if you need any as people will be happy to help other programmers to contribute. Also feel free to share your thought about other people projects as well, but mind
the board rules

I am disappointed that you would call other people's work your own, but it is good that you finally owned up to it. Well i hope we can all get past this and i hope to see you around the board.
