Well what the topic title and the poll title say. I know that a lot of people play Minecraft but I wanted to know how many play Minetest in comparison because
- Minetest is free, Minecraft isn't
- Minetest runs on my netbook, Minecraft doesn't
- I need now to compare the communities to help me make a choice :P
So do you play any of both, or both ?
edit
Also, if you have any argument for one of them, please share ;)

I used to play Minecraft, I got a bit fed up of managing so many mods and vanilla is so boring that I stopped. :P
-
What about Minesweeper?
/me runs

I tried Minetest, but it can't beat FTB.

Boo modpack. Real men setup their mods by hand.

I like my free time. :)

Me too, which is why I stopped playing. The reason why I don't like modpacks is because I prefer having my own set of mods.

I didn't even know that Minetest existed before. Is that by Notch? Because if it's not, then I bet if it's a blatant clone of Minecraft that he could try to take it down for copyright issues >.<
-
Minetest is a free clone of Minecraft that some guys threw together for Linux/windows.
-
I played it for a bit. There's not much to it. The engine is better than minecraft alpha's, but it lacks a lot of features.

Thanks for your answers :)
I know that Minecraft is in a "more advanced" state than Minetest, but it doesn't run on my netbook. Minetest runs, with its settings to minimum but it runs.
Also, who are the two people who voted Minetest and why do I not see their opinion in the topic ? :P

How old is your netbook? I thought that Minecraft requirements were mostly RAM-related due to large maps and potential mass TNT explosions, not graphical-wise ???
-
Seems like it is from 2008 (http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aspire_One) :P
It really has nothing, no big RAM, no big screen, no big CPU, no GPU at all :P
The only reasons I bought it is because it fits in my bag and its battery lasts 8 hours. My other laptop (that has no problem running Assassin's Creed IV on battery) is too big for my bag and only has a range of 3 hours, and that's when you don't do anything "resource intensive" like gaming or running Linux (no joke, Linux never lasted more than 1h30 on that laptop). That's why I am looking for games that my netbook could run to play them in the train -.-
