Well, it took me two tries, I realized it was the password I stopped using long ago.  =P
Yup!  So I can't take the money.  =(
But that isn't what THIS thread is about.  This thread is about you volunteering yourself to get on.  ;)

I recall the days where there were just as many music posts as code posts.
Fun fact: during Summer 2008, Omnimaga almost became entirely a music creation website. That was until Netham and Necro started begging non-stop for a revival of the TI/Computer programming team.

I think it would be cool to see other types of programming :D. And I know that I'm definitely not the only person that does non-calc coding as well(not what I'm saying either). But it can go without a doubt that there is not a lot of non-calc coding here.

Then again it is mainly calculator forum currently, so what should I expect? X|

Anyway, back on topic. Now that I have nothing else to do(except finish coding 3 games), Minecraft would be a great source of relaxation.

blue_bear_94: I apologize for any disturbance this topic causes for you as you code.
Don't apologize to him, he should be apologizing to you. He has been quite rude to everyone in this topic.

I'm sorry for being rude to all of you, in that case.

Also, why wait for 2.x migration when you can update the mission statement right now?

Due to dissatisfaction, I will be inactive on Omnimaga until further notice. (?? THP hasn't been much success and there's also the CE. I might possibly be here for a while.)
If you want to implore me to come back, or otherwise contact me, I can be found on GitHub (bluebear94), Twitter (@melranosF_), Reddit (/u/Fluffy8x), or e-mail (if you know my address). As a last resort, send me a PM on Cemetech (bluebear94) or join Touhou Prono (don't be fooled by the name). I've also enabled notifications for PMs on Omnimaga, but I don't advise using that since I might be banned.

The mission statement states the following:

Quote
Omnimaga is a website dedicated to TI and Casio calculator and PC game programming and music creation of any kind. Aside from our programming team products, the download section also provides TI games and programming tools uploaded by regular forum members and an older section containing the best community-contributed RPGs ever made for any brand of graphing calculators (TI, Casio and HP), including some very rare ones. It is also the home of major TI-83 Plus and TI-84 Plus products such as Axe Parser on-calc compiled language, the Game Boy emulator TI-Boy SE and TI-Nspire programs such as Ndless, which allows ASM and C programs to be executed on this series of calculator, and gbc4nspire, a GBC emulator.

Our community goal is to provide a discussion environment free of any hostility for all coders wanting to learn, give or get help, showcase their work, discuss and have fun. We and the members also have promising game and utility projects coming along, calculator game walkthroughs and programming help available on the forums.

Register today if you haven't already to contribute and we hope you enjoy your stay!

I guess that what could be added is "other technology and gaming-related topics", since we already have computer programming, and HP calcs, due to the arrival of the HP Prime. Otherwise, most stuff seems fine to me for the time being and the mission statement already states that we are supposed to be free of hostility.

However, the current admin interface is made of SMF plus about 30 third-party SMF hacks. Certain of them are several years old and a mega hassle to use when it comes to editing certain site parts. For example, if Eeems decides to edit the forum rules, he has to use TinyMCE to edit an entire bunch of pure HTML in one single line, a software that is not even made by the programmer who wrote the third-party SMF mod, and a lot of stuff is all over the place. That setup was chosen because that was the only solution in 2008, but now that Omni has professional web developers I guess it's time for an overhaul. :P

The SMF 2.0 upgrade will mainly include Omnimaga proprietary hacks/mods plus the SMF software itself and I'M fairly sure that Eeems will make sure that the site is more dynamic instead of static so everything is in sync and the editors will most likely be more convenient to use. The current setup isn't as hard to use as what I've heard from ticalc.org interface (everything is command-prompt or Telnet-based), but I could understand why staff might prefer to wait before editing some parts.

Vortexel does not have a whitelist.  You can now find us at mc.vortexel.com, or 198.24.171.34:25600.  We actually have a popular server event occurring today, friday the 27th- the server auction.  Happening at 8:00pm (Eastern Time).  Feel free to come on!  Here is a photo of the auction house.   ;D

I'll say server auctions are my favorite thing to run, so I put the most time into this than any other room/building.  There is actually a ton of redstone under the floor and around the walls- two different buttons control the lanterns.  Top button will shoot a stream of light around the room, and the bottom button toggles the loop on the floor, making the lights go around and around and around and around...  Yup!  Auction tonight!   ;D

Nice to see/ talk/... well, type to you as well, DJ!

Since I seem to be the one running Vortexel at this time, and this thread seems to be about, well, Vortexel, I'll keep people updated on what's happening around the server.

First, if you decide to get on, I recommend joining around 8:00pm Eastern Time, as this is the peak time of the server for players.

Second, as I enjoy building devious devices that I then suggest/force players to go through (OK, it is optional), I have constructed a maze at spawn, named "Hurricane Maze".  It is 35 by 35, and 7 stories *deep*.  One starts at the top and works their way down.  Did I mention a good portion of the maze was glass?

Third, if you do decide to join us, our IP is mc.vortexel.com but if you have a bad connection, this does not always work properly.  Some people, including me, will (upon joining the server from the game menu) be taken to some random server based out of Israel.  Therefore; I suggest using 198.24.171.34:25600

Great seeing/ talking to/ typing to old faces!

Interestingly enough, there is another auction tonight!

As for the bad DNS, a less techy way of saying it would be a lovely internet FAILURE.  I live back in some woods, so I get bad internet anyways.

Well, Vortexel is gone.  All the admins are headed off to college, and we decided there are better uses for our time.  Thanks to anyone who was ever remotely interested.  =P
