Offline servers are a security issue. I could sign on as whoever I wanted on one.
Why so many minecraft severs? Holy wow there are alot. I say we just pick 1 or 2 for community wise. I have one as well, but its whitelisted and pretty much pure vanilla right now.

For many ISPs, running a server is against their TOS
I can host it, got a quad core + 4go ram+ 100mb/s, but it would be better to buy a dedicated server
