Nice song. One thing, though, it's not very useful to zip/rar songs, because the size difference isn't very different with MP3 files.

Also to upload attachments larger than 4 MB you need to use Mediafire.com.

Now i have finale 2011 and this time garritan instruments with much nicer sounding instruments is included. (i also have melodies 1,2,6, and a string quartet)

Files from FileFactory, more reliable than i thought. Create your own account. No Ads!!! Possibly a bit on the slow side.

NIce. I like the style of that one.

Personally for file hosting I prefer mediafire, though, since we don't have to wait nor login.

Necroposting: True dat. I use mediafire much now. Wow how noobish I sounded back then.

I am working on more melodies, I have audio files for Melodies 1,2,3,6,7. On melodies 4 and 5 I jotted down an initial idea in 2010 then just left it there. I am continuing, two years later to complete No.5. Melody No.4 is a bit stuck. I also accidentally skipped some numbers and am also working on No.10 and 11.
I also composed some other works that aren't Piano solo 'melodies', with extra instruments. They are called: Domineer, Etheremus, Inspectus

Also when I complete them, I'll probably put the finish date instead of the start date, however none of the melodies are really finished and I put in minor edits from time to time. So the other day I made minor edits to pretty much all my melodies, I'll just call them the (Feb) 2012 versions.
But the essence of melodies No.1 and no.2 were composed in 2010 so I am putting that as the Year.

Nah don,t worry. There are just so many filehosts everywhere. Before Mediafire, most people used Savefile actually, until it started sucking.

Glad you're still working on some songs :D

I also have mentioned I have begun my first song in MTVMG (PC version). So I shall have two groups of songs, ones made in Finale, with sheet music, and ones that are more about the sound and combination of the instruments in MTVMG. ;)

I am inspired by your collection of MTVMG1/2/3 etc songs, and would like a collection of my own songs too.

Melody No.5 is half finished. Please keep in mind that some of these melodies are not really that good in quality (compositional quality, not audio quality), I just made them partly to sound good and structured and may not be practical if someone actually tried to play them on piano.
I shall be releasing them soon with sheet music if possible.

cool music :D
I never bought Finale (due to me being too lazy to pay for anything :P), but I do compose music...

Oh, almost forgot. My Jason's Melody No.5 (Debontu) has pretty much been completed. If I am to make any more changes, they'll be minor edits, such as dynamics and articulation.
My series of Melodies are all scored for solo piano.

So I present Jason's Melody No.5, first started in 2010, finished in 2012...
It is a bit simplistic at the beginning, but gets better after a while. Overall, it's ok in composing quality, though this is not the best music I can produce.

Here we are, it is a mp3 file, 256kpbs, between 128k and 320k I guess was the best for now.

Are you just playing this or did you compose it?

I did compose this completely in Finale 2011, I just saved it as a audio file.
It may not be as flexible as some of my other compositions (as it does get a bit repetitive) but I think an ok piece.
Haven't got to uploading the new versions of my other melodies yet.

O.O
Wow, that's cool that you actually composed it!!

It's not really that great tho. I have around 9 other pieces I have composed.
Also, I have edited the first post with a list of my compositions in Finale. ;)

I like it Jonius. it's quite calm as someone said. Also I like how the software got reverb. The instruments are MIDI-like, but with reverb it sounds great. Also i think this would fit well in a video game. (RPG town)

Thanks DJ_O ;D The reverb is from Garritan Ambience, which can be set for many instrument settings for the Garritan Instruments in Finale. This was the nice Piano Solo Stage setting.

Also funny how you say it would fit in a video game, as people in my class commented on one of my previous melodies (Jason's Melody No.7, despite the numbering), that it would suite a video game too.

Oh lol that just made DJ_O's comment seem so devalued :P

But I guess DJ_O has Frozen danger and Superstar Hero as actual RPG songs (an incomplete RPG however) :D

Whoah. I just went to my first post and realised that my original Jason's Melody No.3 I posted in 2010 has 91 downloads!
Hmm. I have uploaded a new version (minor changes) up to mediafire, you should be able to download it by clicking the url links!

Oh what I actually meant was that all the latest version are hyperlinked on the first post. The Omnimaga attachment with 90+ downloads is the old 2010 version. Technically there isn't much between the versions, maybe I changed a few notes to make it sound a bit better.

Aah ok, that must be why it seemed so similar lol. I didn't listen to it in a long while before, though.

In 2012, I have progressed on many more of these melodies, and Melodies 8, 10, and 11 are all underway around 40-50% completed each.
I still have not made much progress on MTVMG songs though.
Another thing, that is less important but would be desirable is to put some overall album art for these.

How did you find MTVMG so far in terms of difficulty?

How did you find MTVMG so far in terms of difficulty?
Initially confusing, though I progressed more significantly once I read the manual in the helpfiles supplied.
Modifying some of the riffs can be time consuming though, and I haven't learnt yet how to get fine control with these advanced settings. But possibly for my first song I should mostly used pre-made riffs, like your Ultra Beat.
What would you recommend?
Maybe also what is complex is getting to the parts of the song with lots of instruments playing so that it doesn't clash too much.

Yeah at first I only used pre-made riffs because I couldn't figure out how to create my own. However afterward I kinda got used to it. I just have troubles with the sample editor right now.

As for finale melodies, I have completed another piano piece: Jason's Melody No.8 - Akord. Will upload when I can.
Later I'll bundle them in a zip file with album art and other stuff.

bump.
I am terrible at finishing things. Only the other day I checked my folder full of half finished compositions, I pretty much stopped composing after 2012, though somehow I already had a 95% completed melody that I last edited in 2014.

Melodies 4 and 10 are close to completion, I want to make some final fixes.

New, updated 2016 version of Jason's Melody No.5 - Debontu.
I had disliked how this piece had nothing but repeating the same Eb note for over a minute, so I changed that. Also made part of the left hand an octave lower for more variation.

Recently completed Jason's Melody No.4 - Reverie
YouTube description:

Quote
Well, this one was a long time coming. I even hesitated uploading the rest of my melodies to YouTube because I had a gap at No. 4 for so long (I don't like having gaps in collections :P).

As early as 2004 (when I was 9), when I got bored with practicing piano I would sometimes start playing left hand broken chord arpeggios in this fashion: Eb, Db, B, Db. My right hand would keep coming up with this particular melody and I would improvise on it and change it, starting quietly and building up more dramatically. These improvisation sessions could take up to half an hour as I kept experimenting.

Time passed, and when I started creating melodies in Finale, I saved Melody No. 4 for this particular improvisation. The problem was I would vary it every time I played it, and putting it on a score meant I had to decide on a set melody, and so I sat on it for years, never completing it.

Finally, in 2016, I am reviewing all my old melodies, and I just spent a few days completing this. It's not very complicated, as the left hand repeats every 4 bars throughout the piece, but if I were to play this on piano, this is close to what melody I would play, with all the variations included, without dragging the piece on too long. At the very end I added a reference to Melody No.5 - Debontu.

I called it Reverie, because it is like a daydream, the constant of the left hand ever driving the melody of the right, but I'm horrible with coming up with names, so whatever, it sounded suitable.

Also recently completed Melody No.10 - Leiery which was already 95% note complete in 2014, so I just put on the finishing touches.
