Help with downgrading OS 3.2 to 3.1
« on: August 29, 2012, 07:32:06 am »
I have the TI Nspire CX with OS 3.2....... :P just got it a few days ago and somehow it updated by itself. please, experienced Omnimagas, i have several questions :)

1. If i downgrade it, is it going to upgrade it back somehow again? or is there some way to disable this.
2. How to downgrade my TI Nspire CX from 3.2 to 3.1.....super desperate.
3. How to use the games i download if i got NDless to work on my calculator...

thanks :)

1. To update, you need connection to a computer via USB - and it (should) always ask you to update!
2. Search fot the OS you were running before upgrading. Then install it like you would install an update, too. (sending via usb as an update)
3. i the Home screen, chose "FILES" or whatever (I'm from germany - my TI is on german) and then go down until you find the game you were looking for!
chose the file and press enter! :)
(ndless is no game - it's needed for games, like nDoom)

Any other problems left? ;D

EDIT: To my answer on question 2: It's the second item by top on the right side ;)

Downgrade the same way you would upgrade. Just send the OS 3.1.0.392 to your calc :)
And yes, upgrading back would be possible afterwards.

Download, install and launchTI-Nspire Computer Link while your calc is connected to the PC. It is a lot easier to use. Then, drag and drop the OS file to your calc, at the bottom of the window.

No problem about the computer software, you will still be able to install 3.1 on your calc.

Question, can a TI-Nspire that came with OS 3.2 pre-installed be downgraded at all? I know if you had an older OS and you downgrade to 3.1 it will work fine, but I wonder if TI installed an anti-downgrade protection in newer calcs that already have 3.2 on them? Has it been tested yet? If our new member try to send 3.1 to his calc and it doesn't work even after following instructions by members, could that be the problem?

What I'm wondering is are there nspires sold yet that come with 3.2 installed?  I got my CX in June and it had 3.0 on it.

Renamed your topic to make it more clear what you need help with. It's a lot easier for people to know whether they can help if the topic title describes the problem.

On a semi-offtopic note, but still related to Deep Thought's post, it would be a good idea in the future to not follow example on the previous two Ndless topics and avoid writting your topic titles in all-caps. With the new posts section and the many morning/afternoon Ndless users around, they'll see it regardless anyway. ;)

@Darl it probably depends where you got it. Some retail stores rarely renew their stock while others will.
