I think the issue is how powerful the Nspire is compared to older models, allowing easier cheating in TI's mind, or maybe some schools banned every calc except the TI-Nspire and TI wanted to take no chance.

I don't think the calc ban due to games argument works, because if schools banned calcs due to games being a distraction, they would have done so at least 15 years ago, plus it's not like as many people play calc games as they did back then (due to mobile devices), so I doubt that games in classes are as big of an issue as they were a few years ago.

I doubt it. Its only goal is to run on the latest possible OS version. Of course, however, around 24 hours after Ndless 3.2 (or 3.6?) comes out, TI will release OS 3.7 or 3.9 and it will block it again >.<, so hopefully we can once again convince as many users as possible to not upgrade further than OS 3.6.

@DJ Omnimaga: I'm not sure of that, this fortunately hasn't been true in the past.

@nspireguy: no major feature is planned except an slightly easier installation procedure. Is there anything you are excepting in this version?

Huh? What do you mean by "more (different) file support"?

A USB driver interface for device mode would be a nice feature, but probably even more work than host mode.

ndless.cnf.tns has support for file extensions, there just has to be a program to open the file.

It would be needed (at least it'd make it easier) to write a driver for communication between calc + PC (via USB) and there are many ways this could be useful. Think of MTP or USB serial. No special driver on the PC needed, just plug in and access the files. Or calc + calc communication (multiplayer games?).

Yeah I was kidding lol. It usually takes longer, but TI usually spends most of their efforts blocking Ndless rather than fixing the OS bugs. :P

I like the trend of this topic. Keep asking questions, there are a lot of people who are afraid tocome ask what you've been asking!

Short story: Internet is hard to do with this device, but it's possible, has been done, and with work could be a beautiful project.
Long story:
Internet on the nspire (via a wifi module) is, besides being slightly impractical because there are already less powerful systems that are capable of supporting and are intended to support internet, something that wouldn't actually be ridiculous or super difficult to implement! That sort of thing has already been done via Linux (which I still haven't actually tried hard enough t get working on my calc) but the only problem is how limited the internet is nowadays without the suppoprt of programs that support the standard of graphics and interactivity expected for use of the internet. So, it'd allow you to have limited access, but you could certainly not play online browser games of any sort of substantial caliber.
Keep trying.
