Finally, a version of
EzPortal addressing the
recent topic and post block issues that caused them to show a random maximum amount of topic and posts (approximately 15-30 and 100-120, respectively)
has been released on SMF website and we updated to it. This means on the front page, the recent topic list should now always show 20 topics, as it is supposed to, and
the recently added "New Posts" section should now show the amount we want to. Right now, it is set to show links to the latest 100 active discussions, sorted by last reply, and links to the latest 300 forum posts. This should make it easier for people who don't visit the forums every day to know what has recently been talked about, especially in this period of high activity.
For the 10 first days of March 2010, our board had under 100 posts in a day only 3 times and had 3 days with over 200, March 5th being the first 200 post day recorded on the new Omnimaga forum, which opened in August 2008. So far this month, 1530 posts were made. In February 2010, a total of 2614 were made, about 700 of which were in the new
Axe Parser sub-forum (project we will report on soon).
At 200 posts a day, the New Posts section, especially the individual replies list, became rather unreliable, as it only showed about 16-20 hours of activity at a time.
