I recently started working on a pseudo 3D racing game engine for the TI-83+ Silver Edition (which should also work on TI-84+ models) called PO:RN (which stand for Project Omega: Race Ngine), written in TI-BASIC extended with tr1p1ea's xLIB Flash application. Here is the most recent screenshot (running at the speed of the Silver Edition):

This project may end in two ways: Either it will be a racing game engine avaliable for download for BASIC+xLIB programmers, or it will be some kind of clone of Pole Position for the Atari 5200.
So far it features pseudo 3D race tracks. Like in most pseudo 3D racing games for the Atari, C64, NES and Genesis the camera is centered on the car, not the road. It also feature slopes, movign background, to give the feeling you are really into a curve or that you are in a slope, and most of all you can see the car side slightly when you steer.
There is no release date planned for this title, it will be released once it's ready. You can check more progress about the game and older screenshots http://omnimaga.org/index.php?showtopic=916

-
well this isnt the main progress thread, but there hasn't been much progress lately anyway, I'll try to do some while waiting for going to see the doctor this morning, as I am pretty sick since last weekend

necro would like to suggest the possibility that something like this could be used for a star fox like or mech warior type game...in fact, this thing just screams potential.
-
Utterly amazing! I can't believe my eyes. :gah:

The physics of this engine are awesome! The turns... the hills and valleys... the backgorund sillhouette... very realistic. And this is done with BASIC & xLib... even more amazing!
Keep up the great work!
