Project Periodical - Edition 1 (part 1: z80) (Nov 1-14, 2014)
« on: November 14, 2014, 04:45:21 pm »
So like tifreak and Kerm are doing on Cemetech, I'm going to chronicle active projects periodically. Halfway through each month, I will post about z80 projects from the time of the last z80 periodical until the time of new one (although this one starts on the 1st of the month, instead of the 15th of last), and at the end of each month, I will post about the nspire projects from the time of the last Nspire periodical until the time of new one. This keeps things uncluttered and easier to do on my part.
And if the admins/staff think this is good enough maybe even I can get this on the front page
For a project to be placed in these articles, there must have been a project update within the period specified in the topic title.

Nice that you got this going. It makes the front page more lively now that DJ retired from being a news editor.

...now that DJ retired from being a news editor.
Not that I want to replace DJ, or anything :P

I'm doing this so we get programming news, since most of the news is forum-related at the current moment. I just hope I can keep with the schedule. I'm making not of Nspire projects right now, and will be drafting these as time progresses, so there can be more information in these periodicals, and I don't get overloaded in the middle of/at the end of the month.

I like the idea pimath. Just make sure that you always keep total screenshot file size to a minimum, as in not using 1 screenshot that is 1-2 MB large. This article is fine on that point I guess, though, although still over 1 MB. And yeah I think you could be a nice news editor (there are currently five games in the news pending queue).

TIcalc.org has much better screen shots of Solitaire. The screenie above just shows that the game deals with a rare circumstance intelligently. (Specifically, where you stack cards in FreeCell super deep. You can't stack them any deeper than what is shown, at least not within the game rules. The stack of cards you see is actually not legal; I disabled legal move checking so I could quickly test deep stacking.)

Solitaire isn't an active project; it's a completed project. Yes, I recently released an update, but it's just bug fixes. And they were all bugs that chances are, nobody even noticed.

I like how there is at least 1 person complaining about a news article in the last three Omnimaga game featuring news straight. :P
