So the OS is officially fucked, then?

Xeda that's good to hear. Personally I am confident that the final version of that OS, assuming it comes out, will be much better stability-wise. However that doesn't change the fact the ASM stuff was intentionally removed from the current copy...

So, TI's officially screwed.
If this is what's next, they're officially dead to us, and us to them.
On the other hand, if this was an accident, then how on Earth did this happen, and why on Earth are they trying to make like it never happened? A simple
"Due to a[n] [insert type here] error, a faulty OS was accidentally uploaded to the website. It has been removed and the matter is being looked into. We deeply regret any inconveniences this may have caused."
would make us all feel better.

Sounds like one of our beloved teachers complained to TI that someone put a game on a school owned 84 and TI is getting ready to make that horrible crime impossible.

I wonder what will happen with the regular 83+? They haven't released any OS updates for it for a long while.

Wow, they've really managed to make Output slow. I wonder how they managed that?

Black magic.
No other possible way. I don't know if even I could make a display routine that slow.

O.O I didn't realize it was that slow. This is even worse than The Reign of Legends map loading speed.

On a side note this is the only one of my games I could get to work properly so far, in my pure-BASIC material. Even the TI-81 version isn't close from being this slow X.x

Well, if this really is what future 84+ OSes are going to look like... that really sucks.  Still, it's not as if they can force people to upgrade.
My hat's off to whoever did this.  The random crashing is a nice touch.

THIS IS AWFULL!! Maybe I should stick only to the 68k calcs.
But it isn't release yet officially, right?
If we complain to TI now very much, they might be able to add all the stuff back.

I'm seeing a lot of RAM clears even without doing anything fancy. One time I tried to clear the screen and I got this. Singapore? WTF?

Yeah true, plus it will still be possible to install a patch from a 1-2 page app for those who are forced to upgrade at school for any reason. (we never know with some teachers)

On OS 2.43, turn off your calculator, hold 2+8, and then turn it on. That functionality is old news.

Edit: Clearing memory for Signapore/Singapore deletes all applications except the localization applications. (The OS only checks the name, so you could rename MirageOS to Espanol, and it would be kept.)

Ah ok, thanks for the info. I just didn't remember "for Singapore" appearing in the Mem clear message. I guess I was without a TI-84 Plus model for far too long compared to the 83+/83+SE
