At least the representative acknowledged that was real.
This is still inexcusable.  :(

Wow. If this isn't an April Fools Day joke, it really sucks for those who like to have the newest OS.

The Prizm is a really nice alternative to the nspire and if we talk up the Prizm to teachers that can work because the Prizm is more cost effective (costs less).  Teachers can't be to happy that TI sold them grayscale nspires while TI was planning to obsolete those gray scale models with the cx color screen model.  Is TI going to use that Os in the future?  That worries me.   I think TI was testing the developer community to see what we would do if they locked down the 84.

So, who still thinks that TI programs their OS's better than Casio? ...

It is april fools day, by the way.  Maybe this is a cruel joke?  I know it isn't, but i'll give them one chance, though they don't even deserve that.

I think this justifies all rages/rants against TI forever.  I personally will warn everyone on TI's facebook page never to buy a TI-calc, send letters to schools asking for teachers to consider the cheap, new casio prizm, and demand a channel of communication between this community and a top level TI-Education CEO.

I think that if we PRESS HARD, we can get to a top level executive in a matter of time.  This ruined my perfect day.

FUCK TI.

Damn, this must be an april fools joke. :|
However, don't forget that TI procuces calcs for school rather than gaming calcs (unfortunately ;D). The TI OS includes everthing that school calcs have to be able to do by itself. There isn't any 3rd party feature required to work at schools and you all probably know how addictive calc games can become. :P
This OS is crap, though, I hope it becomes clarified soon, did anyone contact TI?

I will when I get home.

And right now.

And every 3 hours until this is fixed.

I am more and more thinking of an April's fools day.
- It is not too hard to change "press f1-f4 to locate shortcut menus" to "have you seen nspire CX?"
- E-mails sent to TI usually take ~48 hour for a reply
- If something sounds too good (bad) to be true, it usually is not true.

What do you think about it?

Anthony,

Sorry for emailing you again, but I have been notified by colleagues that the new software (version 2.71 MP) which was accidentally posted is very unstable and may cause permanent damage to your calculator.

If you are able, please remove the operating system from your calculator immediately. If you are unsure how to do so, feel free to send me another email.

Warmest Regards,

Doug Fincher

If it had happened any other day of the year, I would believe it. But crazy news articles on April 1st are pretty hard to believe, no matter what the story.

<Scout> Guys, DJ would never allow anyone from Omnimaga to upload a TI OS. I once uploaded apps from people at ticalc.org and all of them were removed from attachments.
<OmnomIRC> <aeTIos> you are right. and now, he EVEN UPLOADED THEM HIMSELF O.O unbelieveable
<JosJuice> Yeah

SORRY FOR DOUBLE-POSTING, this is too important.
WOW it even was not a double-post.
ACagliano, you are even making this more unbelieveable. TI would NEVER e-mail you 2 times.
