Is it just me, or is this suprisingly soon after the keys were factored?  Seems TI is desperate to keep themselves in control of their OS's.  At first I wasn't sure if this was real, but it seems TI really rushed in getting this out.

Well the bugs that have been shown all seem to happen because inverted text doesn't act quite like it used to. I think pure Basic things could be fine.

I'll start working on a PTT patch for this OS ASAP. xD

Wait... Who hacked TI's systems to copy the OS? :P

Yeah I think it's because TI is scared we might do a better OS than them. As for the bugs I agree with Calc84maniac. Solution for graph screen inverted text will be to rely on CODEX rectangle inversion tools or xLIB/Celtic for now

The MATHPRINT mode is slooooow. Else, fine coding. Probably TI's best since 2000 or something.

I have to say I'm looking foreward to this.  It took  little bit of time for my to get used to the fact that there is "a new standard OS", but now I figure I can have it on my 84+se, and keep the old style on my 83+se. ;D

It does seem to mabey have something to do with the key factoring...

yeah, im sure they feel that since calculator haxxorz feel safe haxxorizing their OS because they never update it themselves that maybe if they update it they can somewhat keep control of the situation

Anybody notice that when something on the homescreen is longer than the screen, it scrolls off the screen instead of continuing down?  That just made this new os pretty much unusable to me :(

Bad news: xLIB doesn't work on our dear new OS...

Celtic III, however, appears to work fine, but you know the compatibility issues Celtic III still has..., so no more Classic mode on Super Mario Smash Dance :(

Omnicalc new programming functions works fine too. I tried Reuben Quest with both Celtic III and Omnicalc. However, I heard the other Omnicalc functions such as parhentesis assistant no longer works. I heard Graph3d fails too.

Ti fail, this looks like it might be bad news for asm-erz, do we know what kind of changes were made to the ROM calls and/or if any were removed?

Yeah idk really. I hope nothing was removed, though. Then ASM coders would need to code their own routines to replace the TI ones x.x But again in complex ASM games I think coders uses no TI routines so they can create faster ones

Oh my, I don't like this... Maybe I should put 2.43 back into my calc until patches start to be worked on or something...

No romcalls were removed. The problem is the mathprint function messing with the homescreen and the hooks etc.

@tribal: My ptt patch has been altered for the 2.53MP OS. I've uploaded it on ticalc, but it's still pending.

Yup, so basically, if you managed to find or get a copy online, keep it, but stick to OS 2.43 on your calc (or Nspire 1.7 for those with Nspires)

Yeah, besides if they have an NSpire 1.8 version, they might've added things so that we couldn't hack it anymore.
So try out the new OS on an emulator before, it'll be better.
