Spencer was obviously sending a message that colors may be possible (we never know lol!), doing a joke or trolling (the later could be true, because according to what Calc84maniac told me, they were talking together on AIM and Spencer apparently said he did not believe ExtendeD's hack was real)

Actually it was the other way around - the driver supports color, but the LCD doesn't. Well at least, it shouldn't because that would cost more, and TI wouldn't pay more for color that they weren't using.
