Half-Life 2 and The Orange Box users
« on: December 18, 2008, 11:16:50 pm »
As of November 2008, there have been an increasing amount of Half-Life/The Orange Box gamers joining #omnimaga IRC channel for the sole purpose of complaining about or reporting our users about various incidents like hacking, cheating, etc. If you are one of these people and happen to read this, our channel is not there for that and we do not have anything to do with the Half-Life community. We are a programming team and group of musicians, not a gaming clan. If you have any problem with one of our user who play Half-Life on Steam or Xbox Live, report him to Steam or Microsoft. Until further notice doing it on forums or the channel in public will lead to the same punishment than spam.

This was added as a temporary forums/IRC 9th rule in the updated rules section

Increasing amount:

Yesterday, 0 orange box complainers.
Today, 1 orange box complainer.

Alert the media!!!!

in all seriousness though, how much of a problem is this? i was aware that this was a singular incident.

there was someone else who came not so long ago flaming the entire channel because netham got banned from Steam for 2 weeks and I recall having got a few PMs too). Everyone seems to be taking our channel as Netham45 HL2 clan

yeah, I remember something similar that occured this summer.

For those who don't know Dragon-Fire, the network #unitedti and #Omnimaga are hosted on, used to have an #elsanctum channel as well as a Pokemon hacking channel called #glitchcity. With the time, they relocated to another server, but the IRCops there caused trouble so they moved back to Dragon-Fire in 2008. However during the time they were there we kept having random users joining acting weird and stuff, plus near the end the other network IRCops kept coming in #omnimaga, begging for a Dragon-Fire merge with their network over and over, and often they would simply come to advertise their personal network/channels via private messages or in public. I don't know what happened but both channels have died so either they just vanished or they just moved somewhere else.
