Lots of demotions lately...

Well technically there were only two recent ones, one being in the last 30 days (Builderboy), but in some ways Hot Dog has diminshed activity now too, and a bunch of people have left due to being busy, so it's like if a bunch of people were no longer part of the site. There were some new people added to the team though. I just hope people are just busy or in vacation and that it's not another community collapse starting like half a decade ago. X.x

Yeah the latter would suck, and I personally wouldn't understand why this would happen, because in the last month there was no drama anywhere here and when we had any we didn't lose people much, plus there are so many new discoveries being done. That said Builderboy being gone will definitively have an impact, because he was a big source of inspiration for many projects here.

I considered opening new spots for the coders of tomorrow team lately, for those interested in joining the team or helping on the site, as we already have done our promotion run through the anti-riot squad usergroup. However one worry I had is that several of the people that I trust and are good programmers tend to have issues with parents restricting their computer usage. An example is that last year JustCause applied for staff, but we had to reject his application because he is not active during Summer.

Well the issue is that last year this time of the year was the most active and the next few weeks along with May were the least active, but this year it seems like the opposite or something.

As for you you would probably have chances, providing your parents aren't sometimes grounding you from any calc site/programming for months. As for past history I do not see anything recent that could prevent you from being accepted.

One thing to note about the hiring rule regarding bad behavior is that it also depends of how bad the bad behavior incident was and if major improvement occured. An example is that Darl got warned one year ago for some rude posts, and it never happened again. In your case, the bans occured because of the nDoom policy. Outside it you would've gotten away with warnings.

Of course, however, if I notice that somebody tends to be too spammy, nitpicks on every single thing or likes to mess around with people and doesn't know when to stop before they get mad, such person may not be trusted as much, as this would give a bad image to Omnimaga website (an image of calc forum that encourages spam or overly messing around with people, which can turn some people away). Also we try to make sure the people who are added to the team maintains a certain level of spelling and grammar quality, so it looks more professional. We didn't have many problems with the latter, though.
