this all could have been avoided if ti just let us have asm... ti screwed themselves over, giving us the proper incentive to make such programs :D

TI sure thinks they did everything right, I really am pissed at them.

and then they blame it on us after (or was it before, I am confused on the timeline here x.x)
I think for the Boot 2 issue they blamed us first.

Personally I think it's a waste of time to try to reason people on TI-Nspire groups/the french official forum, because they only want to stick to their anti-community opinion. As a suggestion to the Omni people who writes there, try to spend a bit less time on your walls of text, because the teachers there are really wasting your time anyway.

Btw, every year TI-France publish an online flyer with all the new products in it and TI-BANK used to be listed in them. However, for 2011-2012 it was removed. :( I guess they didn't like TNOC, Ndless news and that stuff.

This is why companies like Sony gets attacked/hacked all the time like they did recently, although many of these attacks were uncalled for (grabbing credit card numbers for example and punishing many users). It would only never happen with TI because there are so many less TI programmers than there are PS3 hackers.

That said, I wonder if getting the CAS to run on non-CAS calcs could be used in some ways to purposely get TI-Nspires banned from tests in North America? That would be a big nuisance to TI sales, but that could potentially open the door to other calc models like the Prizm (as long as the TI community doesn't create a third-party CAS for it)

Yes, for sure it's a waste of time to try to reason with people on TI-Nspire groups like Nelson but there are reasonable people who read that site but don't post there and they can be affected.

BTW, while it may not be possible to convince a teacher not to buy nspires, considering the serious bugs of late it should be easy to convince them to put off buying more nspires until they know how bad the cx bugs are going to be.

Yeah true. I guess in most case Lionel and others must have to repeat themselves, though, so I guess in  those cases not as much effort needs to be spent to reason people. And yeah the bugs might possibly affect sales to a small extent. Teachers might stick to the Touchpad for a while.

And I've given up. Lionel, Critor and me have repeated like 5 times on the univers-ti-nspire.fr... It is already tiring in French, I can't imagine in English (Lionel is courageous x) )

Indeed. I think Lionel has been part of the english TI community for years though, so it might be less challenging, but still... that's so much to explain.

I loved the past.  Unlike TI we code something right the first time, and praise TI for not blocking everything down.

Now I hate the present.  Unlike us TI never codes anything right and blames us.  And then they lock it down.

Yeah, ti turned into a different company about that time.  I wonder if that was when Ms. Lovett became president of education technology at ti?

* sigh

Why do the awesome people always have to leave?

I didn't know pre 2006 TI but almost anything would be better than current TI.

Back then TI actually posted third-party developer's information and utils on their website. They actually supported us back then.

EDIT: Stuff like this: http://education.ti.com/us/resources/developer/83/download/unsupported.html (saved in WayBack).

As I wrote in another topic, the discussion on the tinspire Google group has been more courteous than several other previous ones. This time, another, more reasonable person, is at the forefront of the discussion.
