Casio will Release a new Classpad fx-CP400 with color screen!
« on: November 28, 2012, 07:50:24 pm »
Hi omnimaga!

Do you still remember the patents found by me one month ago? Yes they were real  :o ! A new classpad color is near.

The fx-CP400, comes which a large touch-panel color liquid crystal display (LCD) for easy viewing and operability with the incredible resolution of 320×528. We really need a screen upgrade, the old classpad screen quality was not the best.

This calculator will competing with the Nspire CX CAS.

The new Classpad model will be available in various countries starting in early summer 2013 (i cant wait :P ).

Casio just published the announcement on its Asia Website some hours ago and I with a bit of luck found him.
Casio Usa, Europe, Casio Education still have nothing published. Im faster than them

I did a comparative table with the characteristics already known of this calculator vs. other casio calcs and nspire cx cas. Im not 100% sure of the ram values in older casio calcs.

Apparently will be more powerful than the prizm  ;D.

So, what do you think of this new classpad?

That's very, very nice looking.
Finally an equivalent with CAS :P

However, will it be allowed to tests ? I guess so, but who knows ?

It looks a lot like a CX imo. The screen is a lot longer though.

A calc actually looking modern enough for >2010? What is this.

Still has the AAAs tho... :/

I'm wondering how similar it is to the prizm. Might some sort of cross-compatibility with a virtual keypad or something be possible?

I'm thinking the two companies realized the PRIZM and Nspire CX aren't really competing against each other so they're releasing new calculators for competition—84 Color against PRIZM and this against Nspire CX (CAS).

All the better for us :D

To be fair, the Nspire CX is pretty modern.

Well I meant more along the lines of something that doesn't scream "calculator" as much. Something you can carry around in your pocket without as many people looking at you funny :P

The news page says nothing about it.

EDIT: Whoa, it even supports sideways orientation...

Amounts of RAM and Flash much lower than those of the CX (or even the Clickpads, in fact), no rechargeable battery... hey, Casio, it's 2013 you're aiming at, not 2006 ;)

Yeah, that's pretty bad...
I really wonder why they're actually restraining themselves instead of putting components that are very cheap especially in great quantities.....

(kinda like TI with the 84C for example)

Google Translator  >:(

The Best CAS on a calculator is the TI89 and TIv200, the classPAD330/400 approaches, soon I'll upload examples to prove ...

The TI89 & TIv200 best calculators in the world, even without competition, I just want a "TI89 & TIv200  color"

Very nice in overall, although I doubt it will be much popular seeing that touchscreen calcs aren't allowed in some tests in USA, add to that Casio's inability to release stuff worldwide (eg the CP300 was never released over here). I assume retail price will end up being very expensive too.

Also CompSystem that was kinda off-topic, but is the 68K CAS better than the TI-Nspire CX CAS and HP-50g too? A year or two ago, we had a HP fanboy on the forums who kept claiming the 50g was better in every single way and the few amount of games/programs didn't matter at all, so I took his opinion about the CAS of all 4 calc series with a grain of salt.
