I do see your point, DJ. In my old high school, which recently got renovated, they have a few rooms that they've designed such that you get zero cell phone reception. Ironically enough, though, one of them has Wifi inside. :P
And as they block the bluetooth signal or wifi ad-hoc from inside room? Even with these rooms is possible use bluetooth or a ad-hoc network to communicate with other people in the room.

But this is not the biggest problem.
With a tablet, for example it is possible to store  pdf files (e-books) with many exemples, exercices, etc... They may even block communication but how they would control something like this?
With a calculator it is possible to store some notes, but nothing comparable to using a tablet... Imagine a tablet with 32 or even 64gb...

Moreover as they can control the use of cas in tests where not allowed?
How can they block the viewing of images in the U.S.?

There would definitively need to be an Android and iPhone app that restricts access to certain features for a certain amount of minutes specified by a teacher that students have to install on their phone before being allowed to use it on tests, but then, some people might just root their phone to bypass those app restrictions through different means or they might just use a counterfeit version of the app that doesn't work.

Thanks for the reply DJ_O that you are pretty sure that one doesn't need to use the stylus but the fact that it is shown in pictures with the new classpad still worries me.  Notice that the ipad is never shown with a stylus.  That is because when selecting from things that are close together, one can expand and move the center of the screen.  Apple provides that capability so that a stylus is never necessary.  I wonder if the new classpad has the same capability?  If not, then I suppose there will be times when the stylus is needed.  Yes I would like to buy the new classpad but not if I cannot expand the screen because that would not be up to date technology and definitely not if in some cases the stylus is required.  There is a lot of good technology available in the electronics market place but the calculator companies always seem to use old technology.  So as far as I am concerned they can keep their crap and I'll continue to use my same old calculators and keep my money.

Dingus styluses are not out of date. They can be very useful for drawing more precisely. Samsung's recent Galaxy Notes all come with styluses that seem to be pretty useful(wish I could get one to test that)
I currently don't do much, but I am a developer for a game you should totally try out called AssaultCube Reloaded download here https://assaultcuber.codeplex.com/

Would lower ram mean worse processing speed compared to the cx cas? Do you know what language the calc is written in? This looks like a very promising handheld. I saw someone else post about other touchscreen calcs. Can you guys name a few? Thanks guys

For some algorithms, definitely.
And while I don't know much about the SH3/SH4 ISA, I know that the ARM ISA is, in the end, quite good, so the processor clock speed would have to be close to, or higher, than the Nspire's clock speed.

SH processors do come in much faster than what the nspire has (the dreamcast had an sh-4 that ran at 200 mhz stock), so we don't really know. However, judging by the RAM available it's probably pretty close to the prizm, which is weaker than the cx by a fair amount.

However, it would be a small enough difference that OS design would be a big enough factor to change the speed comparison. The nspire's OS is ridiculously slow at even the most basic math routines. It gets beaten by its predecessor, the 84+ (Ridiculously lower specs) on several examples. If the classpad is written more efficiently, code-wise, it could easily outperform the nspire series.

Also, if it's anything at all like the prizm, no jailbreak will be necessary. :D You should be able to simply compile and send add-ins to the calc.

I hope that thing isn't too heavy, because while it is easy to hold a cellphone sideways, a TI-83 Plus (to play some games requiring it to be sideways) was a different story (the calc being too heavy and huge prevented you from holding it from the sides without having to put fingers in front of it, the latter which made you cover parts of the LCD due to LCD borders being too small and the keyboard+battery area putting extra weight on the side, making you tilt the calc by mistake sometimes)

I also hope that they won't change it to have automatic rotation and if there is, I hope it can be disabled, because it's annoying with cellphones and I can't imagine how bad it will be with a calc in class.

IIRC Classpads are significantly smaller and lighter than ti calcs, so hopefully it won't be too much of an issue.

Also, I hope that the tap to rotate and the touchscreen's tap to click is not like the TI-Nspire touchpad.

WIth the TI-Nspire touchpad, TI's definition of tapping or touching means taking an hammer and smashing the touchpad so that it even has chances to register the click/moving.

They will probably ignore it. IIRC touch screens are not viable on standard testing (at least in the US) for some reason. Also, TI did prototype a calculator like this at one point but ended up scrapping the idea.

Indeed, they will probably ignore it, all the more the announced hardware specs of the Classpad fx-CP400 are far from threatening the hardware specs of the Nspire series.

Please can create a table comparing calculators between CASIO FX-CP400 and TI-nspire(CX)cas

Thanks
