I found Fx-CG 20 for 130~135€ in many physical stores. 168€ is too much for this calculator.

THe cg20 is actually $135 on this store right now, but it's a discounted price, so I listed the regular price, in case it's just a rebate. It is really expensive, though, since in Quebec, you could buy a Graph 35+ (non-USB) for $24.75 and PRIZM for $129.99. TI calcs, however, are much more expensive over here (a TI-89 Titanium goes for $189 and a TI-83 Plus $123.) and we have no HP calc.

To be honest the CP400 is really overpriced (as is the original ClassPad), because from what I heard, their RAM, archive and processor speed are much lower than the HP Prime.

It seems better, although Casio historically sold their ClassPad series for very high price and they are not sold in retail stores for the most part, so they are incredibly rare, even on Ebay. I hope that their marketing will be better this time. I remember a few years ago when I bought serveral calc models, the ClassPad 330 ran from $189.99 to $399.99 on Ebay.

Before, the price was 132€ and not 168€. This store lies about their promotion.
I have seen many stores where the price was 130-135€ and it was not a discounted price. I go to the FNAC afternoon, prices are still 10-15% higher than the regular price.

Yeah some stores will sometimes mark items up before putting them on sales, especially grocery stores/supermarkets before food prices increase. For other stores, HMV did it when they started closing down or relocating stores (some items that were $15 were now $20 with a 10% off) and Zellers did it too when they were closing down and their leases were bought by Target. When everything was 80% off in some stores, the liquidation company brought in some stock that the store never sold to begin with, including a mattress that costed $1199.99 AFTER the 80% discount. Some items were actually marked down before the closing sale began, though.

Some stores have bad practices indeed so people who dont monitor prices often can be fooled easily. The sad thing is if a $199.99 item is marked down to $198.00, then some people will go nuts and buy it. Even moreso if they put a fake regular price of $249.99 besides it.

IMHO I would understand if a calc like the CP400 went for $140 at launch then slowly went down to $100 over the year, since in the software world, games and softwares often launch at higher prices until sales slow down, but there's no way we have to be charged so high just for hardware.

Their pricing structure is indeed questionable:
* the 84+CSE is barely cheaper than the fx-CP400 (and the whole TI-Z80 series is generally overpriced);
* the Nspire CAS Touchpad is more expensive than the non-CAS CX;
That said, at least, the fx-CP400 is cheaper than the more powerful Nspire series...

I hope it is, but so far it's not on the Staples site there. Also in Canada it seems to be an online exclusive too. The 84+CSE is now available offline here, but for $20 more than on Staples site.

One thing to keep in mind is that in Canada, TI charges way much more than in USA compared to Casio, despite both currency exchange rates almost being on-par. It isn't as bad as it used to be a few years ago when they charged $50 more over here, but it's still much more than Casio. The only Casio calc that is slightly more expensive in Canada seems to be the FX 9750GII. The FX-9750G+ was $24.75, though.

I'm unsure why TI is doing this, but, not to generalize, most people and companies from Texas tends to be extremely patriotic and often feel that their country is much better than anyone else's, especially Canada, so maybe they feel this is enough to jack prices up in the Canadian market.

I seriously hope that it's just Future Shop charging this much for an HP calc, not the standard for Canada, else this means the HP Prime will be around $210-230 here.

A Facebook comment says that the HP Prime MSRP is $149.99, though, and the HP Prime lacks some features that the older calcs had, such as SysRPL, and it's more aimed towards all students than just engineers, so this might explain why the HP 50g is expensive everywhere compared to the 39gII and such calcs.
