Clonelab & Bloxorz for Casio calculators
« on: December 31, 2012, 02:10:02 am »
A few months ago, Ne0tux released Clonelab on Planète-Casio for one of their contests, a game that is most likely one of the most advanced FX-9860G(II?) BASIC game ever created, in terms of graphics.

The game uses isometric maps that almost looks like pure ASM, except for the slower loading speed from BASIC, but even then, considering the graphics quality, it still loads at acceptable speeds for TI/Casio BASIC standards. In addition to that, this puzzle game, where you must make your way to the end of each level while avoiding obstacles, looks very interesting and challenging to play. A better quality video of this screenshot is available in this video.

Check it out now!

Besides that, around the same time last Fall, the first full LuaZM game ever was released on Cemetech, by Spenceboy98 and KermMartian. It is a port of Bloxorz based on the TI-Nspire version of the game by Nick. In this game as well you have to make your way to the end of each level, this time by rotating your block to move around. It is compatible with the Casio PRIZM calculator series (fx-CG10 and fx-CG20)

It can be downloaded here! (Requires LuaZM)

It's a Cemetech tool that lets you make Lua programs for the PRIZM.

Cool, is it loop-based, or event based? Because normal lua is loop, but nspire is event.. And wow about that first game. I viewed the video, and it's amazing, certainly for being coded entirely in basic :o

No clue what that stuff is. I know it's based on the computer Lua language, though.

Well, I was going to do Duck Hunt, but I couldn't find a good spritesheet(plus the masked sprite routine doesn't work right). I did port a rainbow program in lua(it's on cemetech). I haven't really been doing lua programming lately though.

I wish English was a programming language. Would be so easy (some lines of code would be ridiculously long, though).

Also if you decide to restart the Duck Hunt game, you could maybe ask in the pixel art sub-forum here if anyone would be willing to help making tiles.

That would be awesome, but i'm afraid that the programs might come out of it won't be something to be called 'programs', since everyone would be able to write them, and that's not something everyone can :)
