Cubefield ported to the PRIZM
« on: April 30, 2012, 01:03:27 pm »
After Chockosta's version on the TI-Nspire, PierrotLL has finally released Cubefield for the Casio PRIZM!

This is a 3D-looking game where you are a ship that moves forward and you must avoid cubes. It runs at around the exact same speed as the TI-Nspire Lua version so it should be quite fast enough. It is obviously based on the Flash game of the same name.

I tried it for a while and it's very cool indeed. The only thing I like better about the Lua version though is that the blocks colors in your version changes after 1000 points and it goes faster and faster, while in both the PRIZM and Flash versions, the speed remains the same during the entire game.

Hm I like the graphics on the Prizm version better XD

edit: I'm assuming that to get the CX to get the ship to be a triangle would require C right?  Also with the nifty score font :P

You just lost the game.

Awesome.  A couple days ago I was playing cuberunner on the 84 and some people had the normal reaction ("wow those can play games?"), now to watch people's faces as this starts going XD
Is there a pause key, tho?  Also I'm kind of wishing for different difficulties, it starts out kind of slow IMO.

Ok I re-pllayed this for a long while and in fact the difficulty increases slightly after a while. It seemed like it doesn't, but around 3000 IIRC the color changes to black background (where the score is invisible) with transparent green border squares. Around 5000 pts it turned to monochrome. The difficulty being lower might be due to controls being more responsive in C than Lua, though.

I'm watching this:

Does it run that fast on the actual calc?  Because for me, even with overclocking, it's running at about half the speed of the youtube vid :/

It runs about 3 times slower but still fun enough (especially when everything turns monochrome and speed increases)
