DJ Omnimaga checking out (break) and contest update
« on: July 09, 2009, 01:43:28 am »
I know a lot of you have been waiting for Illusiat 13 for a while and that it was getting closer to completion. I am afraid to say that it will not be completed.

Yesterday was my birthday. Because of the course of events mostly 2 days ago, but also the result of many events through the past 4 years in the TI community and a lot in the past few months, I have completly lost the motivation to work on Illusiat 13 anymore and have completly lost the will to contribute anymore to the TI community. I know I did mistakes, took bad decisions and while contributing it did not turn out in a good way all the time, but recently, it seems more and more, from what I gather, that I no longer have the skills to run a website anymore, especially moderation-wise. This means that I am giving up on my admin position and am no longer be part of the TI community. I feel that my work is no longer welcome on the website and seems to only cause more trouble than anything else, and my motivation to work on anything has completly weared off now. As some form of self-gift for my birthday, I am putting an end to my association with Omnimaga and the TI community as a whole.

To be fair, having knew that things would turn out this way and that I would receive such treatment from a lot of members of the community, I would have never bought any calculator to program games. I regret having devoted this much time and effort to the TI community.

Contest-wise, the original prizes, 16GB flash drives for both winners, will be offered (and shipped) by different staff. Aside from the website hosting, no more money contribution will be made by me for the TI community.

I'm sad to see you leaving you've really been the main reason in getting me interested in rpgs for calculators and such. I am very sorry to see this all play out on your birthday of all days. Also sad to hear about illusiat 13 it looked as if it was progressing quite nicely and was going to become quite a large and fun game. I'm not much of a person for long posts as you've seen. As for the contest to anyone else reading this there is still some chance for a prize we may be able to find an alternative source to get these prizes from.
Goodbye

goodbye DJ Omnimaga,
We will miss you. One of the reasons I came to this site was because of the community you built, and how good it was compared to other ones in many ways. I wish you didn't have to leave on these terms.
I have looked up to you as one of the greats who is still working with the TI, but like every great programmer, I guess you will leave too...
well, it's been really good knowing you, thank you for all the help you have given me, even the littlest "wow that looks great" has really kept me going.
-Nathaniel

Currently Simplethinker and I are the back-up admins.

As long as the Omnimaga URL and boards are still up, we'll make sure nothing gets too bad off.

I don't know how long that'll be though... we may have to relocate eventually if DJ Omnimaga really never comes back.

I've been informed that this won't be a problem. So Omnimaga is here to stay as long as the community keeps it alive.

(I've already said too much on the topic of DJ Omnimaga leaving... I really can't say anymore. Sorry.)

I'm sad to see you go Kevin :'(  You've poured your soul into this community to help others, but lately the stress and troubles have been harming you to the point that you feel it's hostile here.  I regret to admit this, but leaving Omnimaga might be the only way for you to remain safe.  I'm disappointed it's come to this, but I understand why.

There will always be a place here for you.

noah and I will be splitting the cost of the prizes, and so the two winners will still receive 16GB flash drives.
