ok, so yeah...I stayed up very late two nights in a row programming, and I got caught, so yeah....I got my calc taken away and my password changed, so I only have access to the comp when my 'rent's log me in....so yeah....
I'm going to be semi-gone due to this fact, and all my progress is going to be halted...
I will be coming back when I get my calc/comp access back, which will be at the next reporting period...
So this means I'm not going to be as active on the forums or IRC for a few weeks, sorry about that...and I feel really stupid for doing that...but at least I should get my calc back and such, so yeah.
I'm going to log on to IRC and say goodbye now, and for all those I don't get to say goodbye to I'll say it now

Also, remind me to teach you my ninja tricks for not getting caught staying up past bed time. They work 100% of the time so long as your parents don't check in on you while you sleep (which parents shouldn't be doing if you're in your teens)

Aw that sucks, x.x., I hope they don't wait too long before giving you acces back. My mom often took my calc away before because I spent too much time using it and in the final year at her home she took my internet down for 6 months because I spent too much time on it. As result, I moved x.x

Wow... this really reminds me of myself, a couple of years ago... O_o Almost the same situation (including the repeatedly staying up at night programming, getting caught, getting calcs taken away, passwords put on... lol)

yeah well my mom had been working till 12, so she got home and saw a light in my room or something...:/
but yeah, it was kind of stupid of me to do, and yeah, I don't know exactly how long this will be, but I'm trying to get on as much as I can (like 20 minutes per day x.x)
so yeah :/
oh well I'll be back in a while...now if I only remembered that little trick with the command prompt to change anybodies password from anybodies account.....jk

yeah but if Eeems' calc is old the lithium battery might be dead and not be able to retain the RAM content for extended weeks

That sucks Eeems :( I hope it isn't too long until you get your calc back.
Just to play devil's advocate: People need sleep, especially if you're working on a large project that you need to have a clear and active mind for ;)

well I don't think she removed the batteries, and I had a backup in the ROM, but it wasn't recent enough to have my bug fix
and I think the lithium battery is still good, but not good enough for a couple of weeks...
@simplethinker: yeah I know, but I was on a roll :D that doesn't excuse what had happened though...:/

oh yea now i rember its just adding a new user :)
run cmd
net user /add eeems
and that is it :)
now if you wanna get fancy after that type
net localgroup "power users" /add eeems
if that doesnt work try
net localgroup "administrators" /add eeems
if that doesnt work then well you stuck as a basic user :(

lol, I think I'll just bare with what my punishment is...although If I ever have to I could just go in safemode and change it from there....

Hey all, just a quick update on the situation. I just got my report card. I have two marks below 80% so no calc yet. For drama my mom might let itslide and for elglish my teacher might have inputted a wrong mark (because it's one mark that is bringing me down) so hopefully I'll get this sorted out soon and get my calc back :)
also I've had my password back for a while, and I have an iPod touch now, so access to the site is simple. But irc is a little hard due to the fact that I can't do anything but irc when I start it :/

How easy is high school in the US if you have to get >80%? ;D

He lives in Canada. However, his parents might be extremly demanding when it comes to school. In Canada, the passing note is 60% and you need about 80% to access most post-hi-school studies. My mom always liked when I got above 70%, but some parents wants their kid/teen to get insane scores, or worse, good scores in every classes, which is impossible IMHO. For example, I had 85-90% in 5 classes in my graduation year and 75-80 in a few others, but in french class I always had like 55%-60%

Well the thing is that french is my native language. The main issue was all the grammar rules causing my spelling/grammar to drag scores down in essays and I always sucked very bad at reading tests. Even in english, I got low score in reading tests, altough essays and other stuff made my score go higher than in french

well I've always had super high scores, but I've kind of slacked off a bit, so my parents want me to apply myself again...

yeah Blizzard probably have gone bankrupt in 1990s if Koreans didn't play starcraft. At least now, they are rich from all the Americans playing WoW. :)

Well today in Korea they still have SC tournaments where someone wins money for pwning :P
Also in Quebec, SC remained quite popular for many years as well. In fact, both ASM attempts at porting SC on calc (in 2003 and 2007) were from Quebecers, which is quite ironic, considering Quebecers normally don't give a darn about calcs.

haha I think a real-time SC is pretty hard to port, even in ASM. I don't think BASIC will be able to achieve such a high goal

ok a quick update, I have almost gotten my mark above 80 in English, and it might already be above 80 if he inputted a mark wrong.
I might have a hard time with Drama though...

I hope you can get all marks above 80. On my side, my biggest difficulty was always french and gym classes. x.x

School is odd. In Canada, a good grade was above an 80. Now I live in the US and work my butt off for 95s in everything. Urgh.

EDIT: And maybe to raise ur Drama mark, Go up to ur teacher and start Screaming and everything really dramatically saying ur parents will kick u outa the house if u dont get about 90, and start fake crying and over dramatizing everything. then.. suddenly stand up and smile and say "how do u like my acting". Lol.. just for laughs. and maybe marks depending on ur drama teacher

I am surprised parents in Canada force ppl to get 80 in everything. That's insane!
I mean, a typical person who is good at school in general will have lower grades in gym classes, and those who are generally very good at gym will have low grades everywhere else that involves studying a lot. I myself was in the former category. Plus, often, someone will have a class that he hates a lot, so he'll have lower grades in it. IMHO, parents should just try to convince their kids to get an AVERAGE of 80% and not fail any class. I mean, my mom was happy when I got 70% average. She just gave me more money when I had higher (I usually averaged at 75-80% in hi school, except the year I was in a bully class).
Usually at school I had approximately 60% in french, 70% in gym and moral/philosophy, 75% in history, economy, arts, 80% in math, 85% in english, geography, physics and 90% in comp sci intro and spanish classes. Note that I did not have all these classes every year, though. Had my parents took my calc away everytime I got under 70% somewhere, I would have never programmed for calculators.
Since about 2005, the school system over here is fucked up, though. They changed almost everything and now parents are all confused and students fails harder. They alerady changed stuff about 3 or 4 times since I started school in 1991, even thought they weren't really that bad back then. Politic sucks x.x I am glad I finished hi school in 2003...

Well, my parents want me to get back to the grade levels they know I can get. I was slacking off last year. They figured, rat since my grades went down when I got my calc, that it will go up without it. Which my English midterm seems to prove...(92%)

Oooh ok. Well, actually, for many stuff I didn,t need to study that much and I finished most of my homework in classes or dinner time. As a result, I was left with load of free time to code without hindering my grades too much. My goal in 2002 was to get 80% average so I get more chances to get to college
The drawback to that, though, was that I used a set of duracells a month (or a set of cheap batteries per two week) in my calc

I was worried that my parrents would come to the same conclusion as yours Eeems, thats why my Parents still don't know the gaming capabilities of a graphics calculator, or that i can program anything more than a simple math program :)

My mom knew I did games on calc, but as long as my grades stayed fine she only had a problem with me coding on calc if I spent my entire days doing the same thing

I'm feeling reluctant to talk about my grades now, since it would be bragging. :O I got an 86 in History last term, which I hate, and a 100 in AP Chem, which I absolutely love. My parents don't let me do anything with my calc though, so it has a periodic table and lots of math apps on it, but no games except Illusiat. :P

Don't worry about it too much :P I hope eventually your parents get more lax about calc stuff though, so you can eventually even start coding games :D

Oh, I'm a Basic semi-wizard. I know many of the more advanced tricks, but for the super-awesome stuff like DJ here knows, I've got a bit to go. But I'm absolutely helpless in ASM. I have made a few games, but they always seem to get erased by inconvenient RAM clears. (Usually when fiddling with ASM libraries.) I would love to have a bit more freedom and time to program, but as it is I'm busy enough. :(

Well, actually, I am far less advanced in BASIC than most people over here. I may be good at designing calc RPGs and games, but to code them it's another story. x.x

My parents let me program all I wanted mainly because my dad was a former programmer, knowing how code works though has really helped me it turned one of the hardest courses at our school, java into a blow-off class.

Oh, DJ. That you can fit hundreds of rooms into the calculator is impressive enough. I was also particularly impressed by how the inventory was handled. Not having done things like that, I thought it was really creative and innovative (and pushing Basic a bit :P). Yeah, I peeked at your code. I was impressed, to say the least. Stop being modest. ;)
At our school programming class is a joke. But my teacher once took of 23 points for a single typo. -_-

Well, I meant more like I am not comfortable with stuff like compressing lists with Binomcdf( and all the super advanced tricks on TI-BD website. I generally go with the rudimentary optimizations. Many people could find stuff to optimize in I13. I don't want anyone to optimize it, though, because then I will no longer be able to understand the code

Hmm, I'm only part of the way to where TI-BD...and I only half understand some of the crazy optimizations. I mostly am good at thinking up ways to do wierd things, and brute forcing them to work :p as my CCI SHELL shows :p
I mean, it took me about a week to figure out boolians! Of course I then found a tutorial that would have made it easier to figure out...(with it I could have learned it in minutes...)

i have no idea how to code the binomcdf things and those advanced stuff. i tend not to use those seq( and stuff, or else i forget what i was coding, and lose myself in bunch of codes. I usually go with rudimentary basic.

I can figure out some of that stuff, but some things (like the binomcdf( trick) go way over my head no matter how much I think about it. Though things like min(5={A,B,C are useful.

That's a great stepping stone to know that min(5={A,B,C is also A=5 and B=5 and C=5. I didn't figure that out for a long time. (About 16 months after getting my calc.)
