School is odd. In Canada, a good grade was above an 80. Now I live in the US and work my butt off for 95s in everything. Urgh.
Welcome back, Eeems? Even though I'm new here and have absolutely no idea who you are.

Welcome to Omnimaga !! lol, im comfortable with 80's atm.. but im gonna change that soon =D
EDIT: And maybe to raise ur Drama mark, Go up to ur teacher and start Screaming and everything really dramatically saying ur parents will kick u outa the house if u dont get about 90, and start fake crying and over dramatizing everything. then.. suddenly stand up and smile and say "how do u like my acting". Lol.. just for laughs. and maybe marks depending on ur drama teacher

I am surprised parents in Canada force ppl to get 80 in everything. That's insane!
I mean, a typical person who is good at school in general will have lower grades in gym classes, and those who are generally very good at gym will have low grades everywhere else that involves studying a lot. I myself was in the former category. Plus, often, someone will have a class that he hates a lot, so he'll have lower grades in it. IMHO, parents should just try to convince their kids to get an AVERAGE of 80% and not fail any class. I mean, my mom was happy when I got 70% average. She just gave me more money when I had higher (I usually averaged at 75-80% in hi school, except the year I was in a bully class).
Usually at school I had approximately 60% in french, 70% in gym and moral/philosophy, 75% in history, economy, arts, 80% in math, 85% in english, geography, physics and 90% in comp sci intro and spanish classes. Note that I did not have all these classes every year, though. Had my parents took my calc away everytime I got under 70% somewhere, I would have never programmed for calculators.
Since about 2005, the school system over here is fucked up, though. They changed almost everything and now parents are all confused and students fails harder. They alerady changed stuff about 3 or 4 times since I started school in 1991, even thought they weren't really that bad back then. Politic sucks
I am glad I finished hi school in 2003...

Well, my parents want me to get back to the grade levels they know I can get. I was slacking off last year. They figured, rat since my grades went down when I got my calc, that it will go up without it. Which my English midterm seems to prove...(92%)

Oooh ok. Well, actually, for many stuff I didn,t need to study that much and I finished most of my homework in classes or dinner time. As a result, I was left with load of free time to code without hindering my grades too much. My goal in 2002 was to get 80% average so I get more chances to get to college
The drawback to that, though, was that I used a set of duracells a month (or a set of cheap batteries per two week) in my calc

I was worried that my parrents would come to the same conclusion as yours Eeems, thats why my Parents still don't know the gaming capabilities of a graphics calculator, or that i can program anything more than a simple math program

My mom knew I did games on calc, but as long as my grades stayed fine she only had a problem with me coding on calc if I spent my entire days doing the same thing

I'm feeling reluctant to talk about my grades now, since it would be bragging. :O I got an 86 in History last term, which I hate, and a 100 in AP Chem, which I absolutely love. My parents don't let me do anything with my calc though, so it has a periodic table and lots of math apps on it, but no games except Illusiat.

Don't worry about it too much
I hope eventually your parents get more lax about calc stuff though, so you can eventually even start coding games

Oh, I'm a Basic semi-wizard. I know many of the more advanced tricks, but for the super-awesome stuff like DJ here knows, I've got a bit to go. But I'm absolutely helpless in ASM. I have made a few games, but they always seem to get erased by inconvenient RAM clears. (Usually when fiddling with ASM libraries.) I would love to have a bit more freedom and time to program, but as it is I'm busy enough.
