Featured RPG project section removed
« on: August 08, 2007, 02:31:00 am »
Due to the inactivity and lack of projects that reigns in this section, I've decided to take it down, and edited the website so the project link at the top go directly to the staff project section. It was also hard to keep up to date, since lot of the projects were also included in the staff section (RPGs). If there is ever anymore RPG news outside Omnimaga, we will just post news articles about it.

Also in order to keep the discussion as much calculator, music and computer related as possible while allowing some discussion about other things, the spam forum will no longer be avaliable from July 1st to September 1st from now on.

So we're going through some massive structural foundations in an effort to get back to our original purpose. Good move, albeit a little risky. Just be aware of the chance that your forced checkmate can backfire.
I don't know why, but I'm feeling oddly *can't think of a proper word* psychological/enlightened today...
One of these days I'll get a sig I'm really proud of.

idk what you mean x.x could you rephrase this post?

I'm just trying to get the forum have more calc/pc discussion, not just spam, and off topic. Of course i wont remove the off topic forum, but you get the idea. I am also trying to get rid of the stuff that nobody use or can't be maintained properly anymore.

The reason why I am removing the RPG project section is because all the RPG projects that are not by Omnimaga staff besides Zelda by spencer are no longer being developped, and this section was getting too hard to maintain (even War of mmruda was still listed here lol). It was supposed to be gone a year ago, but I've let a chance to it for one more year, to see if projects would revive, but aside from zelda, it didnt. Instead of having a section that is barely updateable and not everyone want to visit every site it links to, I decided that relying on news article would be the best solution from now on

[Alright, I had a reply all typed up, and then suddenly Firefox crashed when I clicked play on Dark Side of the Moon in the music archives. Curse you, random crashing! I'm going to keep this short this time.]

I try too hard at sounding smart sometimes :knight:knight3.gif ( <-- OMG, this emoticon actually works at representing what I said. I can't believe it finally found a use!)
What I mean is, that you're doing a bunch of major changes at once. Maybe not all at the exact same time, but close together enough to group together. These are all changes that have the intent to increase on-topic discussion and decrease spam. But, if the community has evolved into such a bad spammer community (I'm speaking hypothetically. I doubt we're that bad.) then it wouldn't cooperate with your changes as you hope it would. Thus instead of having a happy ontopic forum, you might get a forum of sad inactive spammers wondering whether they should leave.
Again, this is really not likely to be anywhere near the truth of what could happen. I just wanted to make ya think :Ptongue.gif

[Edit: URGH! DSotM crashed FF again! I should just download it and stop listening to it in-browser...]
One of these days I'll get a sig I'm really proud of.

well the only thing I am afraid is to even do changes at all, because in the past none of the changes were received without negative comments and complains

well, you do get that when things tend to be removed or added. That is the way people are. You are doing what you think is right for this forum, and for that, I congratulate you.

I agree with Fallen_Ghost and also I agree with:

Death to Firefox! and Life to Opera!!!!!!!
There are 10 types of people in this world-- those that can read binary, and those that can't.
