Board & IRC Rules update, regarding author programs & projects comments

To counter a drastic increase in amount of bashing towards authors programs based on their file size and amount of sub-programs in the TI-BASIC community in the past month, we decided to add a new forum and IRC guideline to the
Rules
page on Omnimaga website.
Until further notice, negative, rude or destructive comments and remarks towards someone's project or program solely based on file size, amount of sub-programs included with the game or even the programming language(s) used by the author (TI-BASIC, ASM, Celtic, xLIB and so on) will lead to an instant ban without any warning. For a first offense, the ban will last one hour if the incident occurs on IRC and 12 hours if it occurs on the forums. Next offense will be another such ban and repeated offenses will lead to the usual punishment.
This is a quite extreme measure we have to take, but please understand that Omnimaga wants to promote the production of any kind of calculator games, no matter the amount of features in it, the language used and the amount of files and memory required and promote constructive criticism towards the game content, coding quality and its entire gameplay, which helps programmers (and encourage them) to improve their work. We always had this rule, sort of, ever since Omnimaga existed, since the site is meant to be a place to discuss about your projects without getting discouraged from working on them, free of hostility. The only difference is that now it was made more clear and punishment is more extreme and will be the same until this peak of destructive remarks wears off again. We do not want a repeat of what happened through 2006.

I would like to note that this does not discourage constructive criticism.

indeed, especially when Reuben Quest 2 came out
The funny thing is that before that nobody criticised ROL3 and Reuben 1 for this, though and people barely even complained about Zelda DLQ. I am unsure why there was such suddent outburst of hate comments afterward. Fortunately people cooled down after Metroid II' but they started again a few months ago
since it has been a while I will probably change this rule back to same punishment than the rest soon (warnings first)
