It should normally work fine. Except of course in IE where the logs won't get parsed correctly (times new roman) and the convo won't refresh at all, so you need to hit F5 everytime you sent a message, but that's IE, so...

So, apparently this is blocked at Amy's (Beautiful Ending's) school...i was wondering how we could get around that.

Mhmm idk , do you mean Omni as a whole is blocked because of the chatroom?

It displays the fonts right(fixed the CSS glitch), but it doesn't refresh still.

Try to not break it in other browsers, though . Do you think you will need to write code for every browser or a code just for IE?

No, it seems that the logs are blocked so she cant see it. But omni isnt blocked yet.

Aaaah ok, I guess there isn't much we can't do, then . Netham45 site hosts a Half-Life 2 clan so it's prone to be blocked at most schools, as it's mostly gaming-related

It's not really a clan anymore, it's pretty much dead. >.>


Also, that's on a different IP/Domain, so if it's blocked, the logs still prolly aren't.

But, I've had the Omnimaga logs blocked for me under gaming before too, there's alot of gaming chat in there.

Just an update: I'ma have to lower the refresh rate for OmnomIRC, I'm burning through my bandwidth too fast with it at 3 seconds.

If this were a user-per-user setting, it could save your bandwidth. i.e., require the user to enable the chat log in their account settings before it ever appears on the page. The fact that it appears in *every* board and thread probably isn't helping much, either.

I thought it was at 5? :O I think 5 or 6 is enough. Also, if SpyBot45 takes too much bandwidth combined with the logs, I could maybe host the bot myself for now. It would require me to let my old computer running 24/7, though, since I usually don't keep mIRC open 24/7 on my new one anymore.

@Eeems unfortunately this is a situation that is out of our control. We are not really responsible of if a filter blocks something on the site and we can't do anything about it really.

For some reasons, I fear that school filters are IP-based. Basically, the entire logs would need to be relocated elsewhere.
