Snake X, please explain. As for summer, I'll probably be active, though somewhat reduced... (vacations and whatnot)

From Code Geauss that image. If I remember correctly, it was a tense moment where a bomb was going to explode.

Maybe he is repeating the number of non leading zeros for a big number? (quite figurative interpretation)

Generally activity goes down during Summertime, then picks up again in November. In early September there are sometimes new people, though. The highest activity we ever managed in June and July so far is 1700 posts in an entire month x.x

And that is already beaten in just nine days of June.

Seems like we'll got a lot of posts this summer... Or maybe we won't, because summer just started a little late for everyone.
I'll be optimistic.

Well we sure have big chances to beat July 2007 record, though. :P (which is 1571). I'm still unsure about August, though, seeing how low last year was.

Why was the forum so inactive last August? If I remember correctly, that's when the contest ended, and it was the anniversary...

The reason why it was so inactive is because at that time, the forum was re-open only for 11 months, after a 6 months downtime plus several months where the future of Omnimaga was left uncertain. When we returned, the re-opening was never announced anywhere. Old members came back when they discovered Omni was back, by trying out the URL by curiousity or clicking a link on another TI site. There were also the people who were pissed off about the shut down (and the reasons why it happened). THose people did not come back (altough in long term, this paid off in the way it filtered out less trustworthy members, which is sad to say due to the hectic times Omni went through, but true). That, combined with the very low community activity at the time, affected our site activity for most of the first year this incarnation of Omnimaga was up. However, last August we still had a lot of people visiting, compared to what I saw in the past on the old site, where most of the 1500 posts made each August were in the Randomness forum by 3 or 4 people.

Also in August it's generally the time where most people goes to vacation in family or other countries, so they have no internet access for several weeks.

IMHO last Summer was better than previous ones, though, despite the lower site activity, because there were more users visiting the site and we did not need to rebuild our userbase as much as the previous years (where most people moved on during Summer).

Generally it's typical for activity to go lower from mid-July to mid-august and mid-september to november on TI forums, though, because of vacations in the first case and school projects/tests in the later case. Help-oriented calc forums like United-TI or CalcGames generally get their highest activity there, though, since a lot of people come to ask for help on how to use their calc at that time.

And in just two months, we've already beaten the number of posts in '08-09 O.O

At this rate, we're going to beat all of 2006 by the end of March.

Holy necropost batman!

But yeah as for now, if we get 314 more posts 2011 will already be the 2nd most active year ever at Omnimaga so far. 2010 had 87232 posts and 2006 30132. Currently in 2011 I checked and we got 29819.

@Jhgenius01 I would say since November 2009, because we had like 6 increases in a row and a few more later.

Yeah, and I just realized something about October:

October 2008: 475
October 2009: 829
October 2010: 12041

1) Since late September 2010, there are days where we get more posts than all of October 2008. O.O
2) October 2010 was 14.5 times more active than October 2009. O.O
