4 Casio RPGs added
« on: August 30, 2007, 02:49:00 am »
We just added 4 new Casio RPGs in the archives. There is 3 for the Casio CFX series (altough Myst only works on Graph 35 or above, not Graph 25), and one for the fx-9860 (Graph 85). The only problem is that none of them is in english, they are all in french. However, if you have a Casio calculator and understand french well make sure to check them out!

I kind of wish that there was a color version of the 84, because then you could create different colors in the same way that grayscale is created.

You could almost watch movies on your calc if you wanted to!

This is not even a joke lol, because the old Casio CFX calcs support 3 layer LCD: blue, green and red. It really looks weird when the calc is tilted but its not too bad though. It just make game execution slower. If you don't believe me, I suggest you to register to casiocalc.org, and ask yourself if its true that some casio calcs have colors

Yeah, CASIO's have had color graphing calculators for a while. I own a couple of CFX's. They're pretty cheap on eBay now. The drawback is it's kind of slow when using BASIC and the LCD is kind of weird. You'll love the display if orange is your favorite color. If put it in extreme heat (like direct sunlight) or microwave the calculator the screen turns orange.

You can read about it on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casio_CFX-9850GB_PLUS

But anyways, it's nice to see some CASIO RPGs here. May I ask what made you put them up? This has inspired me to being work and write a RPG of my own...

Hmmm. I don't know if I would like a limited color set like that, because things, IMHO, look better in grayscale than in 16 colors or anything like that. If they could, which they won't, get a TI that supports 24.7 million colors, then I would use it ;)wink.gif .

But really I don't think the Casio calc games have anything on TI calc games.

i wonder if pixel color can be manipulated. aka make them switch back and forth from a color to another to create another color effect
