Title: Metroid released
Post by: DJ Omnimaga on January 23, 2006, 03:59:00 pm
Fred Sparks, also known as CDI, Xero Xcape, [froody] on forums and IRC has just released the first complete Metroid game ever for the TI-83+/84+. So far it's the first complete one in any language on any calcs, utilizing xLIB's amazing powers and the fundametals of flawless BASIC. It has everything you need, 3 bosses, 2 energy powerups, morph ball, varia suit, and 36 screens of awsomeness! You can download it in the newly implemented Omnimaga team programs archives.
I also did some changes on forums because with 18 projects the forum index was starting to get kinda... long %)
Enjoy!

hmm I personally think kraid is too hard... how do you get to hit it in his mouth? Because in diortem it moved in a regular sequence, but now its all random :(
It need a save option too I think :|
EDIT bug found: when u quit the game when fighting kraid when u restart it it seems XXTEMP000 isnt reset, because I see the title screen and can fight kraid again from there. I guess when xLIB detect XXTEMP00 it doesnt do anything

err, MetEnd should run real(10,2,0 as it's first command... and you can hit Kraid ANYWHERE

me too, awesome, i think its even better than XXR's bouncing logo (altough not as smooth) because it reminds me some animation movies intro :D

Well I've gotten to Kraid but not beat him, for future reference I would put him in a sequence like in Diortem, as the real Metroids work that way.

Also...put some 2 wide blocks in there as you can't look a direction without moving...

Further advice: the map design is a little repetitive, you might want to spice them up a bit more.

All will be implemented for Metroid 2 (the 1 block turning isn't necessary per say, but it's in there too )
also you all (I hate to say it) need to D/L it again... Updates Updated Updates... I'll edit this with the link asap
