Altough some people might have heard about this a few days ago, today Omnimaga is officially starting hiring new staff members.
As you might have noticed I have been adding a lot of website links and files recently in the archives. However you probably also noticed that sometimes there was a quite large gap of time before I post a news about this or add new ones. This is mainly due to the fact that I have a pretty weird full time working schedule, I never work at the same days and hours every week so my online time is quite sporadic. Also you probably noticed by the large amount of RPG updates that the community is getting more and more active as new school year is coming, in other words more news and updates to do in the near future, making me extremly busy, I miss some RPG and programs updates in the community and my todo list is increasing very fast (I have lot of programs on my desktop and I don't remember what they are, except the TI-85 port of Wacky Fun Random Numbar Generator v.1.000069 lurking on my PC desktop since the past 2 days
)
What Omnimaga needs now is
active
staff willing to help the website improve and keep the calculator community updated about new role playing games and programming tools useful to create them. Here is a list of task that Omnimaga staff and me generally does
-Find good RPGs to add in the archives, not text-based and long enough
-Find new RPG projects
-Post news articles about new programs, RPGs releases and projects (requires to be fluent enough with english)
-Moderate forum posting
-Find new website links related to calculators
-Soon there might be a Pixel art competition or a programming competition here at Omnimaga. A forum will open for idea brainstorming.
If you are intersted register an account on the forums and send me a private message on the forums or e-mail me at omnimaga-at-gmail.com . The only requirements is to agree with the forums rules upon registering and be active.
UPDATE (2005/08/14):
Omnimaga is no longer hiring. New staff will be revealed soon (altough this might be quite obvious if they comes online), one of the hasn't been re-re-contacted yet but he will be revealed once things are setup for him as well.

I also need to post the info about news posting for current staff in case they ever come back becuas ethe news system requires one more step to post since the old news are back up, to avoid messing up the order (notice that all news are now Pinned)

Doesn't it stink to know of a great site but know how inactive it is?
Anyways, I might give it a shot, I'd be willing to put some effort into some cool graphics and stuff.

uh, was that meant to be good or bad?
Well actually the pb is that everyone is still on vacation or have no net at time, normally its a lot more active (well, not as much as Maxcoderz, but still active), ppl post updates about their projects, post random stuff as well like calc help topics while the non posting members or guests looks in the archives and donwload some games or programs. I even seen days with 5 registered members online and 9 guests online at the same time

oh I see. I often run into new forums and the author promise to keep them active and post often but they eventually never post in it. I see for example that calchaven was kept active because I noticed the postcount nearing 3000 and the forum is still less than 1 year old. I think TI-freakware forums are quite active also compared to other ones, even if they arent the most active. PRGMERz opened 1.5 year ago and still only have like 800 posts

yeah, I saw, when it first opened I wasnt attracted very much because some posts was one month old, but I saw the metroid project and a few other ones and I decided to register, then it became a bit more active when CDI and Tifreak8x came in. It went inactive for a month then like u said now its a lot more active.
