Here is a quote from Foster@TI:
Quote
TI-Nspire is our newest product focused on secondary and higher education math and science. At this point, we have not yet opened the platform to programming, however, that is in our future plans.
That was found here.

I wonder if this means there is more info they have yet to release, though? They did say that info was coming out today and I even got a message from this Foster@TI to check today at noon.

A CAS allows you to use a lot of extra functions (like simplifing and expanding equations) that the ACT board apparently wants you to be able to do in your head...

Therefore someone needs to write a CAS for those poor CASless Nspires.

Deal  :D

By the way, the Nspire CX will have a slightly lower screen resolution than the Casio Prizm:125 DPI as opposed to the Prizm's ~146. Since the screen has fewer pixels as well, I hope that the display won't be too blocky.

TI-Nspire Software (student or teacher, trial or perpetual depending on the configuration purchased)

My guess is that they will make this available for the CX eventually, through a paid SDK (seeing as slidecases are now sold separately, I wouldn't be surprised if they also made us pay for the SDK), but I do not think it will ever match the freedom of Ndless. They'll probably put some limitations to make sure we don't crash the calculator as easily.

Loved this place, still the best producers of power metal, and sparked my dreams of coding.

April 2011, according to School Mart.  No word on when OS 3 will come out

btw, where did you order your Nspire from, Snake_X?  I want to check their prices on the CX! :)

I bet OS 3.0 will come out a bit later but not too far after the new calc release. I wonder if the older Nspires will still be available in stores afterward? One bad part of the Nspire was the screen quality so students most likely complained about that. After all, the TI-83+, 89T and 84+ screen was much easier to read than the Nspire due to better contrast.
