NSpire Rumors
« on: February 10, 2011, 05:23:08 pm »
As rumored by one of our members, qazz42, it appears that there's something big happening to the NSpire soon.  (See this topic)  It could be anything: so far no details have been "leaked" to the community, other than something will happen.  This claim has not been backed up, but it has not been rebuked either.  In a letter from Texas Instruments to NETWizz, one of the founders of United TI, (here) it appears that this rumor may have some truth to it.  Though TI is secretive, the announcement will be made sometime around Winter Break for most Americans (February or March).  This letter also indicates that TI would like to add programming capabilities to the NSpire, but this may be a ploy to attract more customers.  With all this information, however, it's safe to say that something's going to happen to the NSpire soon, perhaps a new OS.

I was surprised TI even gave such answer. I hope it's not a lure to attract more customers when in fact the new programming function is just extending the battery life by 1 minute.

But again, maybe this is in response to the Prizm.

And I will laugh my head off when you get sued by TI for being a nuisance.

Spoiler For "Projects":
Spoiler For "Because Everyone Else Is":
*Sigh*
can we keep this on topic? The topic is about what the big thing might be, NOT SEX

<Elaborate offtopic court scene>
Prosecutor: Yes, your honor.  Exhibit A.  A freaky looking picture asking "Daddy, would you like some sausages?"
Sean Connery: Objection your honor, I would not like some sausages, and I doubt Mr. Ashbad would either.
Prosecutor: Then you admit defeat!
Sean Connery: Never!
Richard Stallman: Cease this affront to freedom, or stand and fight!
TI: We will fight! (Pulls out two NSwords from their trust NSpire)
Judge: okay, who wants lunch?
Not to be continued...
</Elaborate offtopic court scene>

This is to show how much hope I have for Ashbad winning that case, and is therefore, mostly not but sorta kinda randomness.

TI wouldn't give open asm support. It would be more like a limited c compiler sdk, but why would we even need this if we already have ndless.

List of stuff I need to do before September:
1. Finish the Emulator of the Casio Prizm (in active development)
2. Finish the the SH3 asm IDE/assembler/linker program (in active development)
3. Create a partial Java virtual machine  for the Prizm (not started)
4. Create Axe for the Prizm with an Axe legacy mode (in planning phase)
5. Develop a large set of C and asm libraries for the Prizm (some progress)
6. Create an emulator of the 83+ for the Prizm (not started)
7. Create a well polished game that showcases the ability of the Casio Prizm (not started)

im sure if we hacked the Nspire without anything from TI, I bet we could do even more with what can be done natively :)
