I'm detestably going to have to drop out.  I'm sick in bed right now with a horrible headache and too hazy to work on this until it's too late, I just found my calculator the other day after someone stole it, and my sister has to use it 8 hours a day while she's taking a math class over the summer.  Sorry.

It's too bad that so many people are dropping out of the contest.  :(

Ouch. I hope you will continue the project afterwards anyways, even though the contest will be done.

Might I point out that you are making this decision while sick?
If you feel better and decide to rejoin, don't hesitate just because you said you won't enter.

Good point.  I'll rethink my choice When I'm felling better.

Another one, too bad :-\

If you think you have time you can always create a help thread for your problem and see if someone else has the answer.

I already expected a lot of people giving up, but I hope it's not too many.

I don't think its giving up for them. I think for some that may be it. Some people are being forced to stop it by real life concerns.
Insinuating that they just gave up makes it seem like they did much less than they did

Good Luck to all people who submit their game may the best game come out on top

I-I'm sorry guys. I'm gonna have to hear the wooshing sound of the deadline going past. Turns out making an arbitrary-name appvar generator is harder than it looks.
TL;DR: I can't make it and now I'm all depressed.

What do you mean by arbitrary-name appvar generator?  Do you mean editing the string or something?
