In January 2010, Omnimaga forums have hit 2591 posts total, making it the first time we hit 2500 or higher since 2006 ended. We also have made over 2000 posts for two months in a row, December 2009 being the first time we make it past 2000 on the new board (which opened on August 25th 2008). After we reached a peak of 1649 posts in June 2009, activity dropped due to summer vacations, then went back and forth from approximately 800 to over 1100 a month. After October 2009 low activity of 827 messages, we jumped straight to 1559 in November, an increase of 732, then in December our members made a total of 2094, an increase of 535 over the previous month. In January, we had an increase of 497 over December. This is a total increase of 1764 since October, meaning our activity more than tripled in 4 months!

In other words, Omnimaga new forums activity is now the same as it was in the old forums glory days. The differences, which makes the new community even better, are that after only 40% of the total amount of posts we had on the old board (over 55000), we already have hit our old total member mark and more people seems to have stayed around. In addition to that, the overall post quality seems to have increased considerably in overall, even in our members-only Randomness sub-forum. 8149 of our 20419 posts, 40% of the entire board, are calculator projects and ideas discussions.

We would like to thank all members who are participating to our discussions, who share their work with us, help as well as all the staff who make Omnimaga a better place every day!

Good work.

Omnimaga is back into full shape. I think our plans now should be focused on releasing good projects that attract attention to the calculator community. :)

Wow! I only came around recently, but now I see what you were talking about.  This is definitely a good sign, I love to see a renewed spark of interest in the Calc community.

Me too, I noticed that other forums still have some difficulty remaining very active but despite that, there's a general increase inactivity in overall in terms of programming. I mean, if you check UTI forums, there are not a lot of active topics, but everything is calc-related! Same for Revsoft! Maybe not so much for Cemetech, but I checked recently and did saw some new calc-related discussion there. It seems that in overall, while there may still not be as many people as in 2004-05, there are more developers.

It also helped that Ticalc.org finally hire some active staff to process the archives and reviews and post more news.

Omnimaga activity seems disproportional to other sites, though. At some point, news articles here got more comments than on Ticalc.org and normally, UTI activity was the same as Omnimaga until the end of November. I think the reason why our activity rose this high is mostly because we focus a lot of projects and are more welcoming in general, the later of which rose in importance among our new userbase, especially with what happened to the TI community, especially Omnimaga, in 2008.

Well, about 10 bots registered this month, maybe more, but only a few posted. At least I am glad we don't get too many.

I noticed that we are only half way into March and we already hit 2000, making me feel that this month we might achieve highest post with new omnimaga. Wow!

Spoiler For funny life mathematics:
1. ROMANCE MATHEMATICS
Smart man + smart woman = romance
Smart man + dumb woman = affair
Dumb man + smart woman = marriage
Dumb man + dumb woman = pregnancy
2. OFFICE ARITHMETIC
Smart boss + smart employee = profit
Smart boss + dumb employee = production
Dumb boss + smart employee = promotion
Dumb boss + dumb employee = overtime
3. SHOPPING MATH
A man will pay $2 for a $1 item he needs.
A woman will pay $1 for a $2 item that she doesn't need.
4. GENERAL EQUATIONS & STATISTICS
A woman worries about the future until she gets a husband.
A man never worries about the future until he gets a wife.
A successful man is one who makes more money than his wife can spend.
A successful woman is one who can find such a man.
5. HAPPINESS
To be happy with a man, you must understand him a lot and love him a little.
To be happy with a woman, you must love her a lot and not try to understand her at all.
6. LONGEVITY
Married men live longer than single men do, but married men are a lot more willing to die.
7. PROPENSITY TO CHANGE
A woman marries a man expecting he will change, but he doesn't.
A man marries a woman expecting that she won't change, and she does.
8. DISCUSSION TECHNIQUE
A woman has the last word in any argument.
Anything a man says after that is the beginning of a new argument.

Girls = Time * Money (Girls are a combination of time and money)
Time = Money (Time is money)
Girls = Money squared (So, girls are money squared)
Money = sqrt(Evil) (Money is also the root of all evil)
Girls = sqrt(Evil) squared (So, girls are the root of all evil squared)
Girls = Evil (Thus, girls are evil)
*Girls=Evil credit goes to Compynerd255*
