Yeah I think we're almost guaranteed to beat feb 2010 record now. I am still unsure about hitting 3000, though, because some people have or will get Spring Break soon, and may go in a trip, plus about 4 of our most active members went less active in the past few weeks, but we have some chances. Right now I believe the small decline in activity of the last few days is mostly due to that storm that caused damages in Connecticut and New Jersey, though, because I heard it was pretty bad in some places, and many of our users lives there. If our activity in general remains consistent or at least similar to the past few months, we should proably hit the 3000s this month.

What may help us is if the newly registered members get more or remain active and if progress continues on projects in general.

Just make sure to tell them we are meant to be a friendly community, though, in case you migth have some who tends to troll, though :P. In the past Cooliojazz brought his friends here and all were nice, but Netham45 brought Ginger I think and he kept causing trouble x.x

Lol, he has been in the TI community for 5 years, altough lost internet access for a while then got impersonated by someone else on IRC x.x

In 2006 the real netham45 (him) returned and he became staff of Omnimaga from Sept 06 to Early 2009. There's a whole local meme/joke going on with him now (which explains the blue lobster in the banner) :P

Actually if you meant how the joke started, the lobster meme started over a year ago now. The peanut distributing in intro section has been going on for 4 years.

Otherwise if you mean the explanation of forum activity increase I think it's all the people signing up lately and all projects going on at the moment, especially Axe and the Nspire GBC emu, that increased activity.

Some people disliked Netham45 because back then he was too pushy when asking betas of Mirage 1.3 and didn,t search long enough when asking questions, and when he dissapeared, someone decided to cause him trouble by joining #tcpa as him and flaming everyone. later the imposter impersonated various other people too, using proxies to ban evade. he even impersonated me once too. Eventually he gave up then the real Netham45 came back, but some people were convinced it was him who caused that trouble, and some others messed with him and stuff for other reasons. he was harrassed on Cemetech too and nearly left because of it, then I managed to get him on Omnimaga. Now if he was really a bad person as some people say, then how did he manage to get my trust to be Omnimaga admin for all of 2008 and half of 2009 and still be a co-admin of the IRC channel today? :P

Ouch I am glad you are OK x.x

Over here, we're high enough to not get flooded, but a few weeks ago, when we had these strong winds with the 3 day long storm, areas close to St-Laurent river were flooded by huge waves and normally on that river, waves aren't even a feet high. Or sometimes in Quebec city area, there may be some floods near St-Charles river when it rains too much, like Katrina rest of hurricanes in 2005. Besides that, it's generally ok, though. Storms won't break too much stuff. Some roofs and walls, maybe, but not too much hassle. And I never seen a tornado in my life yet, at least, not one that completly formed, just like a small cone in the sky half a mile away :P

Back on topic, Omnimaga sure has an hard time keeping the higher traffic load sometimes XD, but so far at least it's not too bad. I may get 5.5 sec page loading during one minute then it's over, it gets back to the usual 0.3-0.9 loading. It is still nothing compared to back when our images were hosted on UTI. Every week we had an entire day where all images went missing because UTI server was down, and Invisionfree was far from being the most stable network as well. We often had hours of downtime and the minute we got like 20 posts in 3 minutes, our site went down for 5 or 10 minutes XD
