Author Topic: #Omnimaga IRC channel is back (Read 14701 times)

After shutting down #omnimaga and #omnimaga-fr, since some people want the channel back, I've decided to re-open it for now, however it was not done without rule changes:

First of all, the accent in the rules has been put more on the fact that they applies in the IRC channel as well, not just the forums. Offense will lead to an immediate ban with no warnings in extreme cases or if things go out of control.

Second of all, we want to point out that overall negative attitude toward members is not tolerated in the channel, nor the forums. This includes whining about every single mistakes (if they are even mistakes at all) people do even if it doesn't matter at all to make the person feel bad, and this includes rudeness toward members.

Third and finally, the first rules were made shorter to make them more clear.

That said, the IRC chat and this forum is a privilege member and even anonymous users get, and they have to remember that nothing can stop the Root administrator from pulling the plug from the Omnimaga project.

Ah wow this sucks. I don't think insults will help get the channel back though. Either way it is up to DJ_Omnimaga.

Although I do agree that I don't want to see the channel go either.

well a friend of mine(tari) who was greatly insulted by dj's actions is very pissed and I agree with him. I am reading the logs as I speak.
Edit: http://rafb.net/p/GYUysS12.html that is the full logs of what happened and I don't see a reason for all the kicks and bans at the end of it. I have never seen Brandonw say anything negative to anyone and if he has that was the wrong way to confront him about it.
I agree about the nick change thing I only change nick when I am going away other wise I am TheStorm and nothing else.

Do you think i could talk to him? Because I didn't meant to insult him in any way, I just had lot of trouble recently and it's very hard to manage a channel

OH I doubt he will ever show up there a gain but I will tell him you said you were sorry. But you do need to back away some times and clam down you over react to a lot. If you are starting to rant just log off and calm down.

yeah i know this, but it is hard for me as I had really bad experiences in the past IRL, and also online, especially with tcpa members, which is why i get rather defensive when one of them who is in #Omnimaga complain about something or start an argument. I know it's not all tcpa members who are like that, even nikky cooled down in #omnimaga, but it's hard to trust people from here anymore
