Reminder to all members
« on: February 19, 2011, 02:30:25 pm »
Due to current events and a few situations that have sprung up the staff at Omnimaga would like to remind the members of three things.
1) With the recent upsurge in new forum members using different calculator brands,  starting TI vs Casio vs HP or programming language wars is not allowed and can lead to a ban
2) Omnimaga does not support attacks on other sites, and any discussion of plans of attack on another site on either the forum or IRC is immature, and extremely discouraged, and will simply tarnish the reputation of the initiator community-wide. Not only that but action will be taken against those who use Omnimaga for these plans.
3) Omnimaga will not be responsible for what incidents occur on other sites, and whenever possible, such matter should be discussed on the respective site.
Thank you for your time members, remember that we are striving to build an environment free of any hostility for all. You are a key part of building this environment, and it would be a shame to have to lose any of you to ensure it's continued existence.
/e

Hmm, I haven't been around much for the past week or so, but I know that over on another site we had a problem where a member kept trying to create a conflict. He finally left (due to some skilled civil debating), but I here that this member has been trying to create conflicts elsewhere, too. Are there more people that are taking part in this?

I am new, and was surprised to see the casio forum. I think it is good that you people support all calc programmers. I would hate to see that fall apart.

Reminders are what keep honest people honest.

Spoiler For "Because Everyone Else Is":
*Sigh*
can we keep this on topic? The topic is about what the big thing might be, NOT SEX

Yes, a very important reminder to all.  Remember, drama = bad. ;)

HP makes calcs? /offtopic
Yup, they're the third largest brand, after TI and Casio. :)

I hate drama >.> But yes this is a very good message and lets all heed it well and be friends :) We can all have fun, but not if that fun is at someone else's expense (unless its TI's expense)

Yep, Omni's here to support all calc programmers -- BASIC, Axe, or ASM, TI, Casio, whatever :) And welcome to Omnimaga!

I don't know, but it might be due to most staff being busier so they have considerably less time to spend on monitoring posts, coupled with a recent upsurge in bad behavior. I wonder if the latter isn't just people taking advantage of the fact I am not admin anymore to spam.

It is nearly impossible for me to start a fan war of any sort because I support all calc brands such as TI, Casio, HP, and uberspire's new calc line. I also program in almost every major calc language such as z80 asm, axe, TI BASIC, Casio BASIC, C, C++, and SH3 asm. But just to be safe I should probably buy an nspire because I do not code for those yet. Especially now because I don't want a CX vs. Prizm war to ever start here.

List of stuff I need to do before September:
1. Finish the Emulator of the Casio Prizm (in active development)
2. Finish the the SH3 asm IDE/assembler/linker program (in active development)
3. Create a partial Java virtual machine  for the Prizm (not started)
4. Create Axe for the Prizm with an Axe legacy mode (in planning phase)
5. Develop a large set of C and asm libraries for the Prizm (some progress)
6. Create an emulator of the 83+ for the Prizm (not started)
7. Create a well polished game that showcases the ability of the Casio Prizm (not started)

Personally I only have TI and Casio calcs, but even when I only had a 83+ and 83+SE I still didn't try to start wars vs 68K users.

I do remember the BASIC vs ASM flames, though, as well as against 68K BASIC after TIGCC popularity peaked. The latter is why I was worried when Axe got popular.

Also despite having 20 calcs I only really made games for two, unless we count Nemesiat 83 port and Illusiat 81 port to all z80 calcs. I coded a bit on the Prizm but that's all. I don't really have the motivation to code when crap constantly happens. :/
