how do you make an OS? i want to make a computer on a calculator that does only gaming no calculator lol!

Well you have to be very good at asm programming and you have to be able to work well with the hardware. Also you have to write your own system calls. Other than that good luck  ;)

List of stuff I need to do before September:
1. Finish the Emulator of the Casio Prizm (in active development)
2. Finish the the SH3 asm IDE/assembler/linker program (in active development)
3. Create a partial Java virtual machine  for the Prizm (not started)
4. Create Axe for the Prizm with an Axe legacy mode (in planning phase)
5. Develop a large set of C and asm libraries for the Prizm (some progress)
6. Create an emulator of the 83+ for the Prizm (not started)
7. Create a well polished game that showcases the ability of the Casio Prizm (not started)

Yeah making an OS for the calc is a difficult and long task. Even the best coders around have troubles making one. And yes you need to learn assembly to do it.

It's an 84 os, I don't think it can be put on the 83, PBEs at least. :(
There's an application called prettyprint somewhere, though...it does about the same thing

Yeah he did. Note that the pic above is a TI-83+, not a 83+SE, though.

Unfortunately, I can't help you Guzzie because I couldn't get the OS to work on my 83+SE either. I even tried a copy BrandonW had on his website and it still didn't work. My SE might be running different hardware or something.

MathPrint doesn't seem that useful, a new update that removes the functionality of some of your programs just to be able to view fractions isn't worth it!!

MathPrint has been around since OS v2.53 Why would you patch that though? Just replace it with OS v2.43

yeah Ztrumpet I tried that one too and it didn't run on my 83+SE either. :(

@PeohHero yeah, well said. It depends if the person uses any program on his calc, but if you plan to play games or the like, avoid any MP OS at all cost.

One thing I like about MP Oses, though, is being able to go up in the last home screen entries, though. It's easier to paste old stuff and at least TI made it available with mathPrint disabled too. However it can be intrusive sometimes.

@Qwerty.55 He didn't mean an OS patch, for the update he was talking about MP itself.
